The AlP needs a frontal bench lobotomy.

Seems one called that shot to within less than a whisker’s micron of accuracy, Kevin Rudd’s, the human Chipmunk, meritricous and vacuous statments on foreign policy. Latham, meanwhile, reminded one of nothing less than a child with a toy in his mutterances on withdrawing the troops, all 84 of them, should he win, sometime around September : it’s my toy, I can do with it as I please, we decide.

The week before, Leaf Man, Bob Brown, whined, the govt. has to bring the troops home in order to strengthen defence capacity within Oz. Right Bob, Brown by name, brown in something else. I can see what he means, they are needed to man the old colonial forts with rusting cannon trained on tall ships.Perhaps someone could repair them and train them on the greenies - perhaps the 84 should be brought home, to knock of the varmints.

Sunk in a chair with a touch of flue, not twitching, watched Question Time. The Chipmunk squared up at the despatch box, all 3′1″ of him and delivered what he believed presumably to be a killer question. I was as mystified as Lex, there was no point in it at all. The ALP frontbench must have some weird tactics plotting sessions these days.

Given question time is used by oppositions to set up points for the major debate they have planned for the day. The ALP is lost with Brown, clinging to tree stumps like those pissing, rooting, smelly but edible things called koala bears. After all, their great trip-wire line during question time was a simple simon assertion , the govt’s commitments in Iraq are now running beyond some finish date.

Lex, unlike those opposite has some advantages: he is in top of his brief as minister of foreign affairs. Lex has also conducted foreign policy on a reliable basis, the govt. does not launch surprises which emits rather confusing signals to other govts. and other parties to whom also a safe pair of hands is much to be preferred. Latham, Rudd et al, their hands are not merely not safe, they are time-bombs stitched to stumped wrists .

There are those who consider Foreign policy requires brilliance and daring. It seems to escape them, that is code for fool, stupidity and disaster on the horizon. The Whitlam’s govt. policies on East Timor and Papuae New Guinea were disasters. The, `we are Asians’ policy of the Hawke-Keating Govt. might have been believed by the chardonay-sipping pseudo-intellectual left who find the ABC a source of emoluments for spending money, like Phuc Adams but Asian govts. didn’t believe it. The only thing to be said of infants running such serious matters as F.P. is, if you are someone seeking to screw something out of, say OZ, I’d say your X-mas present has already arrived or, rather, might arrive sooner than the day of feasting.

What nut-nibbler boy wonder and blathering Lathers propose is, however, worse, unconscionably so, to abandon the Iraqis and opening up, therefore, the prospect, a pack of armed savages will take up where the Coalition of the 3 Anglos ensured Saddam had left off. Despicable, the policy of thugs. And so soon after the nut-nibbler had wheezed on about how `principled’ ALP foreign policy is, even though by then, as it remains, what is an ALP foreign policy - any who find one, flush it down the toilet where it belongs, is a mystery only known to toilet flush material Brown ( this guy has never been potty trained and so, shits his dacks continuously).
