These are sensible comments:
There is nothing wrong with beating up the politicians in charge.
The government is always looking for something that appears more dangerous than itself
To believe in liberty, and understand its application in all affairs in life, is to cease to be buffeted by the winds of partisan politics, and instead to do your part in the preservation and further development of civilization itself.
political polls are both tedious and intellectually vacuous

One would only add: it is important to read well, expend time in fundamental reasoning, and, then, to do one’s bit to further liberty, beat up politicians. In the case of commie Spivs like Bracks, that entails firing gutsaches - army parlance.
Both the federal govt. and the opposition need to be beaten up over id cards. The federal opposition is not opposed to id cards, it introduced the current one the tax file number and, furthermore, seems to contemplating two things: loosening entry into Oz with migrants, `refugees’ issued witha computer plastic id card containing all info set out in the govts’ outline of the card.
The first thing to be said is,for an id card to be effective entails a real expansion of police state measure, both in the fact of the card itself and it’s policing. One believed it’s an observation obvious, `illegal residents’ don’t sign up for anything supplied by govt., they are keen to remain anonymmous to govt. fullstop. Terrorists, a major excuse for the stasiland proposal certainly do show their hand until they are ready, it takes inteliigence and hard detective work to catch them : the nonsense of the id card in this case is quickly dismissed by the spoof:
Show us your card
Little red alarm bells flash the alert, this is a terrorist.
Boss, we have saved Oz.
Secondly, how can it work? It is obvious to say, any resident in Oz must be required to show their card on demand to some little jack-booted crumb. Where is to be shown, besides airports and terminals? Totally useless if, say, to be rpesented to govt offices. By extension then, each time you engage in transactions in the offices of businesses. Well, that is still not comprehensive enough. So, do you ask peopple in cities strolling streets to show it to some little nassty bit of work? Then what about towns, suburbs, each street, and that is without all the other dwellings scattered profusely throughout Oz. That might yield the odd illegal immigrant, but not a terorist.
We have missed something in regards to illegal immigrants, however. The problem in Britain, and western Europe of a large and increasing population of muslims and other undesireables is entirely due to their open door policies. The horse has bolted. They could, no doubt evict them. No, instead, Gordon Brown is using the problem entriely due to govt., as Enoch Powell warned of in the 60’s,to attempt to impose an id card for which he will charge citizens some $30 odd dollars each.
The problem in Britian is intensified by politicall correctness laws which loads everything in favour of of criminals and terrorists of Asiatic extraction. Police are loathe to investigate and arrest asiatics, and balcks for that matter, lest they be prosecuted for crimes which are crimes only in the totalitarian fantasies of leftoids. Below, we pointed out police corruption is the excuse Bracks is using to ram through the parlaiment what amount to real totalitarian powers, over and above many such measures diverse he has already rammed through the house, without a squeak, mind, from the opposition led by Paper Doyley : forget the medja, like Moa’s daily toe rag The Age., as good commies they are not about to oppose any such measures. Nor the Herald Sun, which never has either.
That a microchip attached bit of plastic won’t serve or at the very least add any effective capacity to effecting migration restrictions, detection and apprehension of terrorists and criminals of any sort is no mere conjecture. The ATO tax-file number is an id card which is used to compile what are comeprehensive , extensive dossiers on each citizen.
It was clear when the Hawke govt. mooted in the early 80’s the id card, failure to have the bill passed was no barrier, they could resort to the file number, which they did. One viewed John Stone’s single handed defeat of the bill, admirable though it was, was yet pyhric. One of the main reasons was to comabt crime and yet, that pertained , in reality, to tax : and minimizing tax burden is in any case, no crime nor, contrary to the pooh bah magistrate, Bongiorno, immoral: tax is theft by govt. relyiing on police state coercion by each tier of govt: and has the tax regime has been extended and and made more complex, each party has happily been prepared to overthrow the rule of law to confer real secret police state powers on otherwise they who are nothing but clerks.
What is the upshot, it hasn’t stopped real crime, govt corruption, not only police forces continues apace and multiplies. No, the ATO file attacks the freedom of law abiding citizens only. And the ATO file is ciminal fraud and property theft by the govt: it has no right wahtsoever in common law to financial accounts and an extensive range of data and info. It may require certain complaince information from dole bludgers and such like who are mendicants on govt scheme, but it has no right what so ever to any matter belonging tro certainly citizensd independent of govt. It is a criminal fraud on the part of govt.
So, one entirely disagrees with the congenial gentleman of The Daily Slander on the matter of id cards, who wrote:
The card would bring together all personal details including driver’s licence details, police data, social security history, tax file number, medical history and superannuation details on a central database, he said.
Now I don’t believe it is necessary to include all of the above. I’d envisage a “security clearance” card - confirmation of citizenship or permanent residence - with police data and of course a home address. I don’t see why the rest, such as a tax file number, will be necessary. The best argument for an ID card is that by nationally registering simple details on narrow security criteria alone, we can make it a little easier for the police to track down illegal immigrants. The rest can be dispensed with.
What Steve believes is his more limited proposal is not simply the case of the ATO tax-file number, the file number is far more intrusive and comprehnsive than he seems to assume by his modest proposal. The inew id card, if passed, would complete what is already in place, something which is already an extensive totalitarian police state measure.
The govt might as well do as one reader replied:
Perhaps they should whack in the microchip behind the left or right ear depending on which way you lean.

Indeed, in the 1970’s, one Queensland National Party member did propose tattoting, today, no doubt, it would be inserted computer chip. Yet, that is what the ATO file number already amounts to.
On this matter, Howard and each memeber of the govt can eff off. Liberal party indeed, no just the right wing of the one national socialisto mobster mafia which runs Oz at each tier of govt. . It is fraud against citizens, it is overthrow of the rule of common law and with that, property rights, including a funadamental poperty in one-self, just one more evil measure in onward march of reducing free men and women to slave and chattel of all confiscating, hectoring, nannying, moralising, thieving, jackbooted, hammer and sickle bearing, big fat govt. Time to beat up the politicians once again.
