Oh sod Parishes debate. Want more proof, then this:

Read our big fat lips:` we will not descend into hate, we must be positive and focus on policies’.

The ABC isn’t biassed, nah, they just can’t help themselves.
On ABC radio news last night, a report on some senior figure who addressed the flatulation, inflected the introduction:

(Whoever it was) `has given a speech full of hope and promise.’
The golly gosh , isn’t he so wonderful and he speaks to my pretty little navel tone of voice was blatantly voiced.

So, what did this beuatiful ensouled Democrat have to say that was so prfound and nspriring.

1. As the speakers before him have all said: the country must be saved, we must be rescued, we must bring back our Democracy

Ah ha, that’s clear enough, the right order of things is a stalinist one party regime under the Democrats. The Republicans, evidently, mounted a nasty coup de tat against the righful rulers of Ammerikkaa.

2. We need hope, lots of hope.

Wow, that is soo sooo coolll, reall, and sooo true. Wow.

Excpet for one thing, hope belongs to those with no prospects, nothing at all, like, say, Chrisitians in Sudan.
Otherwise, hope is like believing, there really are pots of gold at the end of a rainbow, wish and wish fulfilment, the ploy of the viscious and the comforter of fools.

3. George Bush and the Republicans are engaged in campaign to direct hate against us, to use it against us, to udermine the restoration of our Democracy.

On that, Bush has a case to prosecute the fat commie piece of lard for defamamtion. All the hatred to be detected is pouring out of the mouths of Democrats. Moreover, Kerry is the onhe who has personalised the campaigns, the war hero who never was. it was Kerry who alleged Bush was attacking his record when Bush had not and still has not though, his former crewman are pointing out, Kerry is a liar, he was a coward, and as also his surgeon, Kerry’s wounds were self inflicted and done so in safe territory.

The audience cheered. Someone has asked: do the Dems believe their own hate filled bile?. Yes they do and Brookes.news has an archive of material documenting their solipsisms stretching back some years now.

But for Fat Aunty Bolshevik Collective to chip in for the Dems by providing them to the burden of taxpayer’s money free propaganda service is fraud. And has for the ABC journos responsible for such juvenile muck as the above, they should be fired the usdless dummed down little commie shits.

And Biffer has to be given the bullett too: you don’t need rehame Biffer: you only have to listen to the leftoid pulp pouring over the waves , look at the site and read things like Planet Slavery Slayer and free politicial advertising for pol potian commies like Peter Rabbit Garrett to draw the only conclusion: ABC is Fat Aunty Bolshevik Collective, the lying commie swindlers

Continuing on.

the debate over at Troppo A. and Yobbo is unfolding still, and it is a good one.

Steve, on Yobbo’s blog, has injected a penetrating argument which is itself destructive of justifications of Govt. welfareism, intrusion into markets, and consumption:

I do pay for it, in the one third of my pay that goes in income tax. And I?m happy to pay for it.

Of course, to suggest you are paying for it only tells half the story. The fact is, the entire public is also paying for, many of whom are not using that service. You are paying for it?and so am I.

If we are to have a publicly funded ABC, logic dictates that we have to have a publicly funded free-to-air FOX channel. After all ?I am paying for it”, albeit ?through my tax dollars”, so therefore publicly-funded FOX must be perfectly justified.

The problem with ABC particularism is that it necessarily gives rise to free-to-air universalism. Of course, anyone who refuses to apply to their tax dollars the same standards they apply to others? is clearly not meant to be taken seriously.

Comment by Steve Edwards ? 29/7/2004 @

To what was proposed in the post below, I threw in at T.A.:

Taking up remarks by Ken Parish, some reasonable indeed but others needed rebuttal:

public ownership is appropriate where:

(1) an area involves natural monopoly;
(2) private enterprise doesn’t provide sufficient diversity or excellence;
(3) the area assists substantially in promoting equality of opportunity.

Thus:

Those criteria are flawed beyond redemption.

Just take the case of monopoly, and oligopoly, they exist only where govt.’s impose it.There is not one case of either which has occurred in genuinely free markets. The broadcasting oligopoly , to which ABC is also a political party as well as beneficiary,as also the other majors,is just such a case, it rests on govt. constriction of the markets and possible markets for broadasting, inclusive of the `license fee’.

Pragmatism is also flawed, though embraced by both major parties, the reasons obvious enough. Pragmatism, as Bertrand Russell correctly put down, is nothing but, at bottom, a cult of power.
So, where does that leave things. Take science, sound theory is required.

Common law, and finding it, is rather advance of theorems of action, with no imputations such as to motives, doesn’t pretend to explain the intricacies of man. This, and theory is fundamental to the Austrian school of economics, and why Austrian economists reliably analayse economic affair and, moreover, by extrapolation, consistently make predictions which prove up.

Senator Alston as Minister of Communications, made a crude, vulgar remark: `theory has no place in the real world, we have to be pragmatic’. The stupidity entailed in that remark is shown up by science, without sound theory, many things, from medicine to broadcasting are impossible full stop. Per reductio ad absurdum: what could a consistent pragmatist invent: theory cannot be conveniently picked and chosen but that is what they are committed to.

The reality which has driven pragmatism, is power, the coercive power of govt., exercised through the corruption of markets, the overthrow of the rule of common law and in favour of imposing exhaustive, detailed, prescriptive, procscriptive regulations which, in fact, is a corrupt application of rules of administration which serve only the internal logistical distribution of an association, whether govt, a business or whatever. And notice, the rules of administration of a business are different to those of govt. for very good reasons.Govt. is, summed up, directing and controlling lives through increasingly detailed dictat, and, effectively, micro-managing businesses as well as controlling them. And lest anyone says so, they are not the remarks of someone paranoid, it is mere statement of what is blatantly obvious.

In law and economics alone, why the parties have embraced `pragmatism’ is all too obvious, honest, rigorous attention to what they avow as policies would yield conclusions which would be very embarrassing for them. The increasing overthrow of common law and imposition as re4placement adminstrative diktat is nothing less than descent into naked coercive power pointing in one direction onoly, absolutists, totalitarian govt. And , to observe, that is exactly the route Germany took on it’s road to a totalitarian regime. It’s no joke, and pragmatism is no joke, it is a savage, barbaric doctrine.

Now, for what I will develop, the following is of immediate bearing, and kills another bird with the same stone:

Is Moore a socialist ? Opinion seem split between yes and no. I’m on the yes side. The article demonstrates Moore is hard left.

Michael Moore and Freedom
by Erich Mattei

[Posted July 29, 2004]

When has there been a single piece of art, theater, or literature that has had such a profound impact on politics as Michael Moore’s latest film, “Fahrenheit 9/11″?Released at a pivotal time in both international affairs, in the wake of a much-debated military action in the ever-uneasy Middle East, and domestic politics, on the eve of the United States presidential election for the most powerful office in the world, the film has caused an unprecedented raucous. Moore is a teacher to millions.

The reason for this response is simple, for Moore’s film strikes a universal chord within the consciousness of people from all cultures, classes, and ideologies: the fear of power and the love of freedom. The single greatest asset, and indeed only legitimate premise, of Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11″ is that it publicizes the coercive, grim face of the inevitable impoverishment that is the result of warfare. It investigates the rapid growth of the United States government and its trend of trampling the rights of individuals, and the corporatism that is spawned out of the close ties between big government and big business, especially in wartime.

However, these undeniable strengths of the film are also its greatest weaknesses, for Moore focuses his efforts on the conservative Bush administration instead of addressing the crux of the matter: the institution of government itself. Also, given the passionate disgust that the filmmaker has for the current authority at the helm of the United States government, and the equally passionate fondness he has for an alternative dictator, one may rightly question whether Moore’s motives are sincerely rooted in liberty or merely in detraction.

Referencing Ray Bradbury’s dystopian sci-fi novel “Fahrenheit 451″, “Fahrenheit 9/11″, according to producer Moore, was titled as such for being the “temperature at which freedom burns.” One need not see Moore’s latest work to conclude, based on any viewing of his past work or his website that he is certainly not the freedom fighter he espouses to be, but is actually the exact opposite.

Moore, and millions of others who accept his ideological premise that the warmongering state can be stopped even as big government expands, favors an expansion of power in the name of social welfare. Surely, he and his cohorts would valiantly argue to the contrary by drawing attention to the bigness of the imperialistic warfare-state that is currently being bred, but what both the modern left and right wings of mainstream political thought fail to realize is that the welfare-warfare state, empirically speaking, is a unified beast.

Thumbing through the pages of any history textbook, let alone a focused work such as Robert Higgs’ Crisis & Leviathan, one will notice the radical growth of government regulations, programs, and public policy that occurs in conjunction with wartime. In these periods of national unrest the time preferences of authorities shift and decisions are made to satisfy some short-run interest with little, if any, regard for individuals, their natural rights, or the long-run repercussions of such decisions.

Moore undoubtedly realizes the evils of the military-industrial complex, and indeed sets out to prove it in his new film, but what he fails to understand is that this same formula also applies to the socialist government apparatus that he backs. Certainly, in the market, interests and plans change to accommodate unforeseen alterations, but individuals, being held accountable for their actions in such a setting, have a tendency to react with a greater concern for the well-being of others, even if such a concern stems purely from their own self-interest.

Government, be it welfare or warfare, holds a monopoly of power in the territory it administrates while private individuals and corporations are vulnerable to shifts in the market, namely the competitive market environment resulting from changing preferences of their fellow market participants, and are therefore encouraged to satisfy these changes in order to survive.

A logical depiction of Michael Moore’s ideal system, a socialist welfare state, marks out how misguided such aims are, what such a system would hold, and Moore’s contradiction of supporting such a system in light of his supposed support of freedom and peace. State socialism, the epitome of modern left liberalism and the logical end of its philosophy, is the antithesis of free market capitalism and, hence, all of the freedoms afforded the individual in the natural order setting of capitalism.

Socialism encompasses the absence of private property rights and the concomitant trade and markets that evolve from this propertied capitalist system. National socialism, the state-coordinated socialist system of Moore’s sort, is the culmination of the state, a system wherein the individual has little if any choice but is rather regarded as a mere component of the state and granted rights and privileges to the state’s property and resources.

While the utopian communist philosophers throughout history, which the modern left liberal sentiment resembles and often emulates, envision great prosperity and peace, such ends only achievable in a free market environment, basic logic concludes otherwise. Ludwig von Mises’s Omnipotent Government does just this, mapping out the logical path of the rise of the total state and total war and the historical examples of such a system. The blueprint is quite concise: socialism, being the absence of markets and trade, and hence the inability to utilize any resources beyond the states’ borders, necessitates conflict, in place of trade, to acquire those previously unattainable resources. This is the implicit contradiction that Moore makes of attacking the current warfare state and yet supporting the welfare state. For a consistent application of Moore’s stances on economic issues would, in time, necessitate war if the total state wishes not perish.

The “freedom” favored by Moore and those of his ideological orientation is the “freedom” of government to tax, regulate, and grow so long as it is managing economic, social, and cultural life. Free market capitalism is positively the only manifestation of the natural right that each individual has to the ownership of oneself. It is also the system that Moore, a self-proclaimed civil rights activist, undeniably rejects with much conviction. For capitalism is the only system wherein consensual acts between consenting individuals are permitted, be they civil or economic.

Further, capitalism is the only system in which unprovoked, pre-emptive aggressions and rights violations committed by individuals or bands of individuals are prohibited. In his opposition to capitalism, Moore is explicitly opposing the only solution to the war-mongering imperialism he purports to counter. Government, a zero-sum game at best, is often times a negative sum game, notably during war or conflict, which necessitates orchestrating actions and policies such that those who benefit do so at the expense of others.

Free market capitalism, the only system of positive sums and liberty, for that matter, does not earn the approval of Moore or his followers because of it offers individuals the right to voluntarily interact with whomever they please, utilize and trade the fruits of their natural, diverse abilities, and profit from these exchanges. Indeed every piece of legislation or public policy initiative that redistributes wealth in any way, or pumps more money into an ever-failing public work or government program, most of which Moore openly supports, subjugates the fundamental freedom of self-ownership from which all other legitimate freedoms stem.

Therefore, one must ask: is any credit due to Moore, and if so, how much? Consider this historical analogy: a German Neo-Marxist in the 1930s?40s making a film on the terrors of the Nazi rise to power. The film would speak of the obvious, and even do great good, but the motives and ends are almost just as bad or worse.

Until Moore and his like reconsider their stance on the many forms of welfare statism they support, they will continue to be everything but the advocates of freedom they would like the public to think they are, and the philosophical framework of their bantering will yield not freedom from power but merely a shift in the ideological justification for power itself.

Now, the casae I am developing is one from mmorality and the fact is, it is only free markets and rule of common law , with uncompromised property rights, which induces and generates general morality. Statism, the command economy of govt and its use of coervice force against citizens to assert its position doesn’t simply undermine people economically, it induces and then compounds it the moral debasement of increasing numbers of people.

One of the major fallacies of sociology and pyschology is, mind-body dualism, some higher dimension subsisting within mere matter - universe is concrete matter, nonsense held by the majority of clergy in Australia, and let us make quite plain, in Christianity that the heresy of gnositicism. The above is further demonstration of why gnosticism is a heresy, it is a nasty doctrine only, it is not science, it is not philosophy, it is outright garbage.

We leave of, again, for a short while. Just like to let what is shaping up as an item progress. If Ken Parish is reading, do, if motivated, comment.

There are many solid arguments against forcing taxpayers to keep ABC and many other schemes of each tier of govt.

Before proceeding, in case anyone has not seen as much as they could tolerate of SBS’s `World according to Bush, Bolt has detailed some of the many lies told in it. One stands out, accusing Bush of equipping Saddam with the materials for chemical and biolgical wmds, yet running the line , Saddam had no wmds?! Bolt must be into S & M, he has, evidently, closely watched the propganda film , right down to the credits. SBS didn’t simply purchase the celluloid pack of lies, it was directly involved in its production. On the other hand, entirely consistent of SBS, after all, they, adulate that commie whore Coxsedge. Not forgetting either, SBS, until it was brought to the attention of the govt. ran a proganda service for the communist regime of Vietnam.Bias, who said anything about bias, downright commie propganda machines both SBS and ABC. And they still expect real taxpayers to be compelled by god almighty fat blackmailing, extortionate govt. to keep their obese , usless fat commie hides into the `lifestyle’ they believe is theirs by some goddamned twinky divine fucking right, bull bloody shit. They can end up in the gutters, the bastards can starve.

Yobbo ignited discussion at Troppo Armadillo
with solid points. Hastily threw in this morning the five cents worth as below:

3MBS is an independent classical radio station, not. by force of govt., kept at real tax payers’ expense.

It is worthwhile noting, the orchestra and opera companies effecting a transition away from govt. and so tax revenues: they are making increasingly commercial decisions: as one officer of one of the companies said: we are now actually delivering a programme of productions which serves not just a general audience, but segments of all who are devotees of classical music and ballet.

A very good point is shown up: until `national medical schemes’, medicine was an enterprise, driven market. Until, in Oz, govts, supplanted practice as a profit earning market, including hospitals, medicine was, very inexpensive: in the 60’s and early 70’s modest wage earners in very large numbers held top cover medical insurance. That is how cheap it was. Govt. imposed consumption of those services is a bottomless pit: neither the federal govt. nor states’ govt. no matter how much they tax and spend will stop the decline, and there a number of major reasons why.

By contrast, companies running profit earning hospitals and hospices are delivering services consumers will pay, and, they are increasing the capitalisation: they are increasing what they deliver. Again, there are major reasons why that is the case, including no waiting lists.

Each dollar a govt. takes in tax is actually a tax on the payer of , at the minimum, $3. What it actually is difficult to establish but I suspect each $1 taken by govt. is a tax on the payer of $4-5 dollars, before compounding since that is money the payer cannot invest in enterprises over time.

Govt. regulation is a tax, and is a tremendous sacking of capital. Take, real case, a light processing firm which supplies cut salads in plastic packets to retail chains. Each year, it has to stump up $500,000 in cash to meet OHS regulations which serve nothing at all but useless jobbers called bureaucrats and inspectors. The consequence is, the company will not increase working capital and output, and, consequently employ more people because of the losses entailed in that act of fraud, the annual licensing charge. After union thuggery, it must be marked, OHS compliance lifted the per unit price of Heinz output at the ex Dandenong factory, those two things were , to say the least, the major reasons why it was shut down.

ABC’s nominal charge is not$580m per annum, it is $700-800 with an additional $200 or so ms. /yr fro its commercial shops.

But just take the $580m, the real tax slug is only a few bob short of $2billion per annum.

The argument, no good thing can be done in free markets is rubbish. To the contrary, govt. takeover, schools, medicine and so forth is marked by their debasement.

ABC should be sold off, to sink or swim.

As for bias, the matter is not merely one of `balance’, throw in say 2/3 RWDBS to balance 3, 10, how many employees of ABC and mainly lefties.

No.
1. Accuracy in all factual statements. Not `interpreting them. Commentary: sound argument and not the injection of personally held beliefs, by explicit statements, even mannerisms. There in, the standards of ABC are vulgar, crass, coarse_ the frequency with which presenters resort to slang is itself an indication of that.

That is bad enough, couple it with unmistakable politically motivated bias, the ABC is a disgrace. That is not unique to ABC either but what makes it even more immoral is that it is committed at taxpayers expense. This goes right to the heart of the ABC union’s overthrow of Dame Leonie Kramer in the early 80’s. Her position was: to lift ABC to objective high standards, including other non-news programmes. The lefties won out and it shows.
This is distinct from whether ABC should continue to be kept. No it shouldn’t be kept any longer. The trouble for ABC, to set it up on a commercial basis would be difficult, it would sink, precisely because of the shallow, callow staff, both by the self-indulgence in programme content and their leftoid thuggery to what would be required to run it efficiently.

It is a mess , a mess compounding the theft of taxation - taxation is theft of property, enforceable only on the threat by govt., each tier of at that, to use violence against citizens if they refuse, by way of `criminal charges’, `fines’, and also `prison sentences’ . An extortion racket which imposes real economic losses which means many remain poor. An extortion racket driven by the scams of govt. consumption, ABC is one of them, so is Medicare, so is the NIC, and `free universities. So is DSS.Let ABC sink or swim. There is no justification whatsoever that many should be forced to pay for others’ entertainment. Those who wish to view ABC let them, and them alone pay for it, as also classical music , which I enjoy too but believe it should not be at the expense of others, others should not be compelled to pay for my interests by the act of govt: extortion and blackmail.

ABL pointed out something, cf. Yobbo crucial also:

The cross mediaship laws do nothing good. They entrench Packer as a dominant firm. Fairfax wanted an interactive news service with F2, and to fully expand it, but cross mediaship laws, in conjunction with the ass backwards doling out of datacasting, radio and TV rights, mean we all get oligopoly service, Packer is strong but doesn?t actually maximise profit by servicing more people.

to ABL’s point, dropped in the observation:

What is stopping further in roads is regulation of broadcasting and `license? fees.Fiat regulation, as also of the fiat `law’ radio and t.v. will be digital in 2006 - backed by all parlaimenatary parties, has just punished amore innovation by entrepeneurs in broadcasting. Free markets can deliver, and should be left to it, but interfering govts. corrupting markets and slugging all they can extract throw more than mere spanners, try cement sqaure axles two tons each - how would your cars drive with them slung to the undercarriage, eh?

As stated above, if bias were not a problem, that they are kept by taxpayers by coercive police state power by the govt, remains objectionable to say the least.

The notion that on a free enterprise basis good news and c.a. cannot be produced is bunk:

Jim Leher News Hour - excellent
Jim Leher Business report
Preston’s `World’s Most dangerous Places Series’ -excellent

It can be done and notice, just those three programmes are produced at a fraction of the cost of anything SBS and ABC
    produces

.

It is more than just ABC and SBS, however, as alluded to in my first comment. To, this, one will proceed to elaborate in a separate item. For now, I draw reader’s attention to :

General Loseur is C.I.C, French Army and inventor of this thrilling multi-player simulation game.

In the review,a screenshot, a rifleman’s view of the opposing position, demonstrates what a well written programme it is. Notice the flags: if fighting men were concealed in the positions, an assault would be suicidal. Not in this game.

It has four levels, each reflects the reality of life and promotion in the French Army, and what a boy has to do to get some action. Personally, I find it tenuous French judges might uphold criminal charges against a paedophile when paedophilia is rife in the F.Aarmy, it must be since it is General Loseur who devised the simulation game.

What, and lose viewers?!

The coverage is a continuation of SBS last night, the convention , `The World According to Bush’, diatribe, vacuous sentiments - Kennedy sounded like an indulgent daddy to rug ruts:

come on, let’s save the country and, give John Kerry a new home

O.K., there are now a couple of rooms available in Gitmo.

Some damned Dem, being interviewed, is running, like SBS last night:

Iraq is turning into another Vietnam, we need Kerry to turn this around and save Iraq.

Murderer doesn’t want parole, ever
By Ashleigh Wilson
July 28, 2004

A MURDERER regarded as the most dangerous man in the Northern Territory prison system scuttled his chances of parole when he told a Darwin court he would kill again if released.

Still dangerous … Murderer Andy Albury on his capture in Darwin in 1985. Picture: Clive Hyde

Admitting he was still a violent man, Andy Albury, 42, fidgeted as he told the territory Supreme Court via video link from Darwin’s Berrimah jail that he expected to spend the rest of his days behind bars. “Cut the crap,” Albury said.

“Everybody knows I’m going to be a risk forever.”

Albury was sentenced to life in jail in 1984 after being convicted of the stabbing murder of an Aboriginal woman in Darwin. Albury cut the breasts from his victim.

Very touching, m’lord:

Yesterday, in a rambling, semi-coherent speech, he said that all he wanted was a hot shower and for his cell walls to be painted green and blue.

Death penalty anyone?

A sensible remark by the judge, however:

But Chief Justice Brian Martin said Albury had shown a “calm and rational self-assessment” of his condition and of the likelihood he would kill again.

Then, this:

Justice Martin said any “right-thinking person” could not help but be moved by Albury’s 10-minute rant, a speech he said gave an insight into the “real human tragedy” of having to lock people up for long periods of time.

Eh?!

Tragedy, a literary form and not, of course, pathos, pity, sorrow, and that which is pathetic, evocation of pity, sorrow, distressing.

A hero falls, their actions might end in disaster but the hero, in any case, is ruined by the end, with or with out violent death, by ceding to their weaknesses, flaws of character, in the face of events.

Albury is neither tragic nor pathetic. He is merely honest in stating what he is, evil.

One fails, further to find anything pathetic and/tragic in the solitary confinement at Albury at all.

Pity is reserved for the woman and her family slain by the scumbag.

Meanwhile, the Spanish believes a terrorist can sue the president of the U.S. , claiming he was torture. I have a better solution: shoot Abderrahmane and sack the bloshies now in govt. With Chriac preapring the French for handover of govt. to Islamo-fasicts, face it, with exceptions like italy, Europe is painted wall to wall white.

Spain’s ‘Taliban’ to sue BushFrom correspondents in Madrid
July 27, 2004

“We have yet to decide in which legal jurisdiction we will attack. We have the choice between Spain, the United States, or an international jurisdiction,” the lawyer, Marcos Garcia Montes, said.

“We will base our case on the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” he said.

Why,I’m all cut up about his rights, bwaah.

Abderrahmane, dubbed the “Spanish taliban” by the Spanish media and a Muslim from the Spanish north African enclave of Ceuta, is currently free under judicial supervision facing accusations of “belonging to a terrorist cell”.

Top Spanish judge Baltasar Garzon is investigating his case.

I agree with the lawyer:

Hamed Abderrahmane has been a victim of judicial torture. We hope to obtain a penal conviction as well as damages and interest. Mr Abderrahmane deserves that,” his lawyer said.

“Nobody can be imprisoned for so long without seeing a judge or having access to a lawyer.”

How can you hold scumbags like Abderrahmane without shooting them ?!

Worse, one of the Bali killers , Idris, has been handed a 10 year sentence, and may only have to serve 9 of it. Just as in Oz, it seems prison is a mere `professional hazard’, for ruthless, hardened crims who don’t blink at shooting someone .

Idris faces only 10 years
By Sian Powell
July 28, 2004

PROSECUTORS have asked that core Bali bomber Idris be jailed for just 10 years, in a light sentence demand almost certainly a result of the appeals court ruling that threaten Indonesia’s anti-terror laws.

Prosecutor Arief Aziz told the court Idris - also known as Jhoni Hendrawan - had been proved guilty of the crimes under the anti-terror laws.

“We demand the judges in South Jakarta court, which has investigated and tried this case, to decide that Idris has been proved guilty of criminal acts, evil agreements and assisting with terrorism,” he said yesterday.

Idris played a crucial role in planning for the Bali bombings, and his partners in the crime have received heavy sentences ranging between life in prison and the death sentence.

Before the hearing began, Idris’s police-appointed lawyer, Sarworini, said she would use the constitutional ruling of last Friday in her defence later in the case. She added she hoped the Bali charges would be dropped entirely, but that depended on the three presiding judges.

A graduate of notorious cleric Abu Bakar Bashir’s Islamic boarding school in Ngruki, central Java, Idris later joined the terrorist network Jemaah Islamiah, according to the indictment.

So, Idris out in 9-10 years, will be free to continue where he left off, planning more mass murders, training Islamo-fascists in terrorism, financing terrorism and so forth. Boggling as that sentence is, his lawyer attempted to obtain an even shorter one.

The recommended penalty should be: drop the scumbag in a pig pen followed, some brief while later, by a hand grenade.

Meanwhile, the estimable John Ray, Dissecting Leftism, has linked a number of articles and research into gun ownership and that the freedom to carry arms is accompanied by a sharp drop in crimes. Even without that, face it, police do not prevent crime, they enter the scene after the fact. It is good to see a police officer, a British one, at last fess up to that fact, as Mr.Ray has also linked:

The Policeman’s Blog

Oz `laws’ are just more stasiland rot, noting also, criminals still obtain all sorts of firemarms, readily at their unhindered leisure.

Equipped with a pistol, revolver, shotgun, automatic rifle, might not have stopped all that was committed but at least the victim below would have had a fighting chance, as also his wife.

Victim ‘forced to drink acid’
July 28, 2004

FIVE men who allegedly forced a Sydney accountant to swallow acid at gunpoint have been charged with his murder.

Victim … Dominic Li in a family photograph.

Accountant Dominic Li, 45, died on January 2 last year after he was allegedly forced to swallow acid at gunpoint in front of his wife and 14-year-old son on December 13, 2002 at their Concord home.

Five men aged 24-39 were all charged with murder and conspiring to inflict grievous bodily harm. Two were also charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm while the other three also face charges of being an accessory.

Some face assault and firearms charges.

A sixth man was charged with murder but died before he could be extradited from Thailand to Australia last month.

Mr Li’s wife, Chau Ma, said she was pleased charges had been laid.

“I am pleased that the detectives have charged these men,” she said in a statement. “We are still grieving but are trying to get on with life. However, I fear that our lives have been taken away from us forever.”

Detective Sergeant Col Taylor from the South East Asian Crime Squad said the charges were the culmination of an 18-month investigation.

All five men are due to face Central Local Court today.

The electric chair for those vermin sounds good to me, set on ; slow fry the vermin.

Scoop

Tim Blair has set of a mountain of comments on his suggestion for MargoKingston.fuckwit.

A cooment turning on that old favourite, Aurelia, set this super-sleuth on a hot trail. Straight out of the fax machine, my double agent has obtained a copy of, should Latham win office, the new OZ anthem, from `Deep Fry’, who looked over the shoulder of a natioanlist socialist cadre who, it turns out, is preparing for the revolution:
(Yes, it is only draft, the grammatcials):

If Latham wins, the opening to the chorus verse set to Aurelia will be:

    Sung to Aurelia:

Oz National socialist Anthem,

Ozland, Ozland, Untermich,
Untermich boden voll von scheisse,
Ozvolk, Ozvolk, Lecken mein arsch
Lecken mein arsch du einfach sklaven;
Ozland, Ozland, Untermich,
Untermich, boden voll von scheisse.

ABC, proganda unit for Pol Potian greenies

Fat Aunty Bolshevik Collective never wastes an opportunity to repeat the litany of greenies, like this bit of garbage.

Corroboree frog’s last dance

The race is on to save the cold-loving Southern Corroboree frog. An intensive breeding program may be the last chance for this once common species. But even if frogs can be bred in captivity, how will they survive in the wild against drought and a killer fungus?

Could global warming be responsible? Although it’s too early to be conclusive, the record series of hot dry years in the past few decades are having a huge impact on egg and tadpole survival.

Well, both pests, the ugly little slimey thing and the big FAT A.B.C. thing, can hurry up and die out.

Good News

Under the Iron Lady, the S.A.S., conjointly with Britain’s secret services had the war against the IRA won. Then Clinton interfered, Blair, like a poodle, followed him, and not defeat but the bastards were loosed again, IRA scum, a defeat from Voctory’s grip snatched. The S.A.S.,S.B.S.,MI5, will use the tactics they perfected against IRA to penetrate and destroy Islamic-fascist terrorist cells. My money is on, they will do it and as thoroughly as they did to the IRA.

Britain forms new special forces unit to fight al-Qa’eda
A new special forces regiment is being created to infiltrate Islamic terrorist groups such as al-Qa’eda, The Telegraph can reveal.

The Reconnaissance and Surveillance Regiment will work closely with the Special Air Service and the Special Boat Service. Its mission will be to penetrate groups, either directly or by “turning” terrorists into double agents.

It will be given the authority to operate around the world, working closely with friendly intelligence agencies such as the CIA and Mossad.

The estimable Arthur Chrenkoff is now doing on Afghanistan, another tour de force , contrary to the leftoid media, demonstrating real progress:

Good news from Afghanistan, Part 2

A gentleman whose time is up , cancer is the bullet, is standing up to it. As he writes on Cancergiggles, curling up in self pity serves nothing at all. He is a contrast to the recommended spycho-socio-babble `counselling ‘ that is prescribed even for a cut finger.
