last week, the humidity and the heat was too much to tolerate, the p.c. swam before the eyeballs as I sat languidly feeling rather ill. Given tropical condtions of Queenslanders, they must be a species apart to endure it continuously, the banana bender species.
So, this morning, had intended to recommence blogging with gusto, then I read Louis’s item below, and followed links to the Mann site. The latter, complete rubbish, as commented in response below. Computer modelling is not science, just a more time consuming , and costly, way to write fiction stories.
The following in comments on the Mann site is ( Mann et al respond to comments in brackets) is just plain vile and silly.
Isn’t there any legal action you can take when someone says something about your work that is false and damaging to your reputation?

Actually, Edz, if someone says something about anyone’s work it is not necassarily defamatory, and certainly not when what is said is true, as about the charlatanism of Mann et al old crocks’ stick. It is not simply that Mann’s methods and data sets are flawed, the findings of Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick are graver in force than that, and these are just a few of the sound scientifc arguments against the man causes global warming claim and the chicken gizzard oracular consultation which buttresses the bank of `anthropogenic warming’.
What is unamusing is the recent spate of scare-mongering by polticians such as, The Oz Federal Minister Senator Campbell, Brit. L.P Minister Byers, and sundry busybodies such as the “Australia Insitute”. My impression is, this concerted effort to panic people and impose totalitarian decrees on `anti-global warming measures’ and other `eviro’ scams and the bilge of such as `sustainable development ‘ ( i.e. let’s return to the condition of primitve savages) is rather bound up with, , the claim is crumbling quickly as papers accumulate which shred the claims . This has taken some time. John Daly, for example, over some years, until his death nearly two years ago, compiled an ever increasing body of impressive papers by distinguished scientists which otherwise, if `global warming ‘ was a matter of genuine scientific inquiry , would have ended the `man does it claim’ as an entirely false hypothesis. Just on the Hockey crocks’ Stick, the findings of Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick , are the latest in papers which leave no room for doubt, the Hockey Stick is a bit of fraudulent rubbish p[urveyed as science.
What is plaguing both the speudo-scientists, greenies and govts, including the Oz and Brtish Govts. intent on asserting the bunk of mand causes it and thus impose Kyoto toilet rag driven diktat, is, unlike over the last 10 years, the hard science and evidence against claim can no longer be ignored, and distinguished scientists no longer defamed as cranks and potically motivated charlatans. The extensive body of science has now become very embarrassing for the boosters, including govts. and types like Campbell and Byers. Even the IPCC , despite being the major agency through which boosters of all types have asserted their rubbish has realised it can no longer bluff and exucse bad science. As M.&M. sate on their website, the IPCC find they have to accept their findings, quite in contrast to what Mann and Lambert are doing, still trying to, per special pleading , justify the unjustifiable. This is really amusing, the enforcer of bogus science and the great tin pot internationalisto goddy, the IPCC , is facing up to the fact, the Mann et al findings are false? It is quite a gas, Mann and Lambert and others are happy to show, they are not only purveyors of charlatanism but show themsleves to downright fools: it takes a fool to erpsist when the lurvy durvy internationalisto club of pol pot commies the IPCC has decided to flatly accept, the Mann et al findsings are bogus. This is hilarious.
Yet, at last, as the pol potian greeny fuelled rubbish man causes global warming has about to be thoroughly discredited for what it is, we have perhaps the explanation of their near hysterical ravings of govt. minsters and boosters, and their attempt to hasten the criminal kyotot inspired measures they hope to impose. Hysterical, ravings, as lunatics do.
Take one claim of the boosters: in the early 80’s’s , the dire catastraphe was supposed to have happened in the late 80’s. By Kyoto, that was revised to the late half of the 21 first century. It was revised dow to the 50’s. Now, in the matter of the last couple of weeks, they now assert it will happen in the next ten years and, on the Mann site, even venturing it is already happening and most likely too late. to save ourselves except by the most drastic of totalitarian measures. This iis not science, it is voodoo, prophecy, the drivel of `pyschics’ and astrologers. This weird contest alone, as to who can bid the earliest year for the onset of apocalytpic catastrophe, beftting otherwise fools, morons and primitve savages, actually itself shreds any scrap of plausibilty the claims of the man causes it brigade might have. The reason is simple, it discloses they have not a single clue as to what they otherwise claim to observe. They are observing nothing at all ,as a I explained in the comments box in response to Louis’s item.
There models are not theories of anything, and they do not instantiate anything at all, for them to gnerate climate patterns on which the whole speudo-scince of man caused global warming rests. Man caused warming does not even rate as a scientific hypothesis, for several solid reasons which are also why, far from being science, it is nothing less than fraud committed in the name of science, which has dragged down science. It is a disgrace, a shocking, immoral, wicked fraud, a fraud in which govts are complicit and for the additional crime of stealing from taxpayers to fund this bit of chicken gut inspection for, how many billlions ?
Senator Campbell should stop his juvenile, ductile conduct and, instead of lapping up Sir Humphrey Environby’s soothsaying, sack him and get a real scientist to advise , as in, to dismantle the whole fraud of environmentalism which serves only the aims of those pol potian peat bog dwellers, the greenies and lice hugging PETA.
