It was ruddy freezing
during the short break. Not apprised of how cold it has been where I was at night, and with a warm Thursday afternoon, went off to the lake decidedly under-dressed. At 4.p.m. it was as if someone had turned on a huge oudoor freezer unit. After an hour and a half of that I gave up, sloped off back to the car and had to scrape ice off front and back windscreens. That was at 6.00 . ame again Friday but, one was equipped to tough it out.Saturday evening was not too bad but, while there was only the barest whisper of a breeze in the town, at the lake it was howling near gale force, and it was Sunday and in the town, and whipping up long lines of white caps, the water racing and it was freezing. It was Sunday a fierce chilled wind, and in the town, no doubt, then, it was gale force out at the lake.
Nice browns out to 12 lbs had been taken during the week and preious week. On Thursady a lad landed a nice plump 8 and a 1/4 lbs beast and lost an even heavier one. I had to content myself exercising sprats, when used to landing 3lbs plus anything down around a lb is a sprat, and briging home a nasty cold which floored this chap yesterday afternoon. It was bad timing too, there happened to be a fishing comp on and Thrusday and Friday boats were chundering around through the water - it is a rule of thumb, when the boaties are out in force with evinrudes grunting through the water, fishing is a complete waste of time. The deterioration in conditions and a wildly swinging barometer, taking to the lake was really just an excuse to sit in an over-sised whiskey and beer garden - well, fishing is, at bottom, just that, a jolly good thing too.
The only irritation was when two chaps wandered past muttering about the poor fishing. Having entertained sprats themselves, they blamed the lack of a good brace to take home on, `global warming’ and, `this wouldn’t happen if we weren’t destroying the atmoshpere’. Boggling stuff - haven’t cvaught a fish and its `man caused global warming’. No, I didn’t butt in but it was irritating listening to a couple of adult blokes parrotting glibly juvenile drivel on, and on, and on. The point?
Each tier of govt. of Oz has done a pretty throrough and nasty job in promoting the bilge of greenies. When chaps whose grasp of science is all but non-existent parrott nonsensical expressions as great scientific truths, we have a reasonably good indication of the success of the propaganda effort and the debasement of science.
It is not warming as such, the climate is moving from a miniice-age, so of course the earth is warming up. It is the rot of `man causes climate movements’ which is the devil. Brendan Nelson, to re-iterate, faces a contradiction. On the one hand he wish to see improvements in core dsiciplines at school level, but how can the failings in science be rectified when junk is equated with sound science.
The problem is illuminated by, creationism adn science are incompatible, the former is not science and it does undermine the teaching and learning in science. And that is what `man causes global’, supersitious and mystical mumbo jumbo. It is not scientific and that which has been asserted as science in support of the claim has been thoroughly demolished for what it is, the perpetration of fraud. It is beyond doubt the damage has been done by the propagation of what was once only the nasty beleifs of cranks. The IPPCC has perpetrated fraud in the name of science, and a number of formerly respected scientific journos have abused that trust to publish fraudulent papers to boost the drivel and suppressed scientific papers. Distinuguished scientists, have been slandered, as also mathematicians who have demonstrated from statistics what the boosters of the drivel assert as evidence for it is in fact no more than random chance, in other words the mathematics states, observations are no more than physical regularities given the probabilities - that is science and demonstrates the point: sound science cannot be reduced to vulgar usage.
In one respect, all are `scientists’ in that all use things which rest on sound science. Medicine is a good example of it, so is flight, so are bridges, so is electricity and telecommunications. Of course, one doesn’t pretend to have the grasp of physcists and mathematicians but, one benefits from the sciences, one relies on them, and one admires fine science - there is no need to be a scientist to appreciate sound science is the advance of the quest for truth and renders are a marvellous service as a consequence. So, why are the major parties so committed to the indoctrination of the dogmatically held rubbish of greenies and aligned cranks when it is nothing but an outrageous perpetration of fraud, and at no minor burden to real taxpayers at that - from schools and `universities’ to the monstrous beaucracies called EPA and every tier of govt and every one of each tier has an EPA. Nelson, you have a problem, you can not rectify failing, degenerating impartation of science and maths in schools when even the Coalition asserts disgusting fraudulent bilge is science, promotes it as science and throws taxpayers’ stolen property at the indoctrination of school pupils and pseudo-university undergraduates in Dwork unis. in mysticla, supersitious bilge. Nelson might observe, why is that not considered also immoral and corrupt as well as fraud the brainwashing of youngsters into the dogmas of greenies and aligned cranks? That is plain Neslon, it is nothing less than the corruption of youth by grinding into the beleifs worthy of only primitve savages. That is how corrupt it is, Nelson, and it is criminal, definitely so. You do have a problem Nelson, as does the rest of the Cabinet, it is a very grave problem you lot, the pollies all parties have dreamt up and imposed. That is corrupt, it is fraud, it is rotten conduct to the core. There is no saving mitigation for what the conduct of the major parties in this amounts to. That is how bad it is Nelson.
