Tax Cuts Won’t compensate for food-fuel-water price increases
This is the reaction to Rudd’s tax cuts according to this morning’s news bulletins. It is true, but those saying it are in the dark as to why; forced capital destruction.
Rudd is running the very line Malcolm Turnbull asserted when he was “Minister of the Environment”
“Everyone knows higher prices means greater efficiency”.
This is appallingly bad. It is falling prices that reflect increasing efficiency. The error is loaded with another problem. Having conceded the falsehood, the Liberals are in no position to attack what Rudd is preparing to do to Australians. Conceding falsehoods is a systematic disease in the Liberal Party.
The disease, a ‘brain tumour’, reflects the calibre of their advisers. Liberal MPs see nothing wrong in employing incompetents? Then there is the IPA and the CIS. With the HR Nicholls Society, they leave Liberal MPs floundering around as if they were playing blindman’s bluff. The sods enduring the consequences are modest Australians.
The CIS’s defection
They decided to deliberately deceive the public, Liberal MPs, and companies on carbon taxation.
There are senior figures who are increasingly irritated and questioning the CIS-Yates-Peony Company connections. Swallowing arsenic in large doses instead of genuine free market anti-dotes to rotten measures is, they now realise, limb stiffening. They are muttering, “it’s only Greg Lindsay’s super fund”. Shareholders, though, might ponder the calibre of Directors who throw their funds at the poisoners.
Andrew is a dolt. He only had one bolt and shot it long ago.
Andrew Bolt also ensures the man in the street is none the wiser. Then, this is a man who sees nothing wrong in destroying food production through ethanol. Does this explain why he refuses to attack the likes of the CIS?
No, not altogether. As an intrepid journalist, pet poodles are more aggressive. Oh… dear me, he is Costello’s and Kroger’s pet poodle. Bolt did use his column to help those two undermine Howard and further damage the Liberal Party. The diseased Left don’t mind, they don’t wish to see the buffoons in the CIS, IPA, and others shown the ‘your sacked door’.
Water in Victoria and not a drop to drink.
Due to the “Right’s” not ‘free market’ refounding of utility firms, successive Cabinets have sacked coal based and water companies. Instead of massive dams on the Mitchell and in the Otways, built by free market entrepreneurs, supplying water efficiently, more capital is being destroyed in the black hole desalination.
The Bracks-Brumby Cabinet is presiding over the destruction of water supply. For this privilege, Brumby is now slugging Victorians a massive increase in the price of water. Well, cutting water supply to a trickle will do that anyway.
Toorak Brahman and doctors’ wives are not disturbed. Some of them believe it should be a criminal offence for modest Australians to own cars. It is unpleasant sharing the roads with the unwashed and, hey, let them stink – literally or, “Let them drink mud”.
The Great Madness
All this before Rudd has imposed more capital killing taxes in the form of cap and trade carbon emissions. Voters, though they do not know the economic explanation, are beginning to realise what the “great Madness” is all about and what the implications are. We can tell, because Rudd and the ALP are heading deep South in the polls, as news bulletins related this morning. At least the Titanic cruised part way round the world before it sank. But who has done the real damage?
The incompetent, ignorant Right, their advisers, and their non-free market think tanks. There is nothing there. The stone dead are not noted for brilliance. This lot fight against measures that will drag Australians down faster than the Titanic did passengers and crew?
They can’t. They have conceded the Greens Lies. Their mates, Campbell, Turnbull and David Kemp, imposed watermelon red policies. The CIS conceded the Greens Lies in its monumental paper on why “costless carbon taxes” are good - “Please, Mr. Rudd, destroy capital and Australia”. It’s not simply that they are ignorant of the theory of capital, and bad on much else in economics. It’s clearly a waste of their expensive time bothering to learn, if they could, economics.
Thus, the likes of Bolt are the upshot. He simply doesn’t have a clue as to what he is blathering on about. He, like them, ‘knows’, end of story. Blanks, as the Left appreciates, are great for drawing funny pictures on.
What is the problem?
Voters have to be won over. The “Right” not only got labour market economics wrong, and thus crippled what is a sound cause. They assumed the voters would do as they are told. Sir Enoch Powell knew what was wrong with that; it is the attitude of those who don’t merely hold modest people in contempt but due to their contempt abuse them. Powell, in fighting against unrestricted immigration, was also fighting against certain politicians, Ministers, bureaucrats and advisers.
Here we are in Australia, it’s 2008, and the Right have never learned even the simplest of lessons. This was made plain 2007, with the Liberal Party booted onto the Opposition benches. The ACTU love them for their hubris.
The ‘Right’, not satisfied with the all the damage they have wreaked to date, continue making a mess of another fight that must be won. The result is, the rubbish spouted by the Left and too many in the Right litters ordinary speech, and has been brainwashed into the majority of school children. Ah, Julie Bishop’s motto – “science is a technique like playing with yo- yoes”.
It is midnight and we are cruising straight into a ruddy great iceberg. Voters know it, the “Right” don’t.
