Various people within the CIS have opinions, and those opinions vary. In my sentence above "there is a change my proposal would create a net welfare benefit", should read "there is a chance..." All of the other quotes of me provided by Mangled say the same thing. On it's own, a carbon tax (like any tax) imposes costs. But when combined with other policies (like tax cuts) then the net impact (ie considering both impacts together) is ambiguous. I honestly believe that there is no other human on earth besides Mangled that doesn't understand this simple use of the english language. The man is, simply, retarded. And I have comprehensively responded to all of Gerry's points at the ALS blog. I can't provide a URL now because wordpress blogs are banned in China (where I am at the moment). I'm glad he refers to the CIS, IPA etc as "right" in inverted commas. Because these groups aren't "right"... they are "free-market" or "classical liberal". And all the better for it.
