Red Ted Baillieu mocks justice and victims of crime

In, Victorian Bushfire Disaster Commission: A cover up, one put for consideration:

… the overthrow of inalienable rights in Victoria and the usurpation of the Rule of Common Law is matched by the staggering rise in violent crime. Both in rate and the sheer stomach churning violence of it. In overthrowing rights… the Victorian Executive has broken its real oath sworn duty and, for good measure, has stuffed the judiciary with enough who have said the thing that pleases lawless politicians, ‘the “Law” is behind them’. Another telling symptom is:

Those guilty of horrifying crimes laugh in Courts as Judges hand down non-sentences… Meanwhile, should the law-abiding defy decree No. 2001324, it is they who are in for it; Cabinet comes down on them with all the punitive force they can muster. Indeed, a very telling contrast.

A rally to be held in the streets of Melbourne was arranged last week. One first heard of it on Sunday morning. It was to protest against the high rate of violent crime. Things came to a head in recent weeks with Indian undergraduates targeted in brutal bashings and stabbings.

Why has it taken so long for Victorians to decided to ‘rebel’, when over years thugs have been bashing, stabbing, raping and murdering hapless pedestrians, train commuters, modest men and women in their own homes? It is testament to either masochistic stubborn endurance beyond tolerance or, they are well brow beaten into hapless acceptance of violation of all their inalienable rights by the Victorian Triumvirate of politicians, bureaucrats and ‘judges’.

Add on the likes of neo-Marxist Christine Nixon, who busily neutered hard crime fighting police units such as the former Armed Robbery Squad, and police are as frustrated as the public that they are paid to defend. The ‘crime’ of the ARS, by the way, in the eyes of the Triumvirate, was to hit very dangerous criminals hard. They were also an unpleasant reminder to the Triumvirate and their former police Commissar, Nixon, of why they were converting the Force into their neo-Marxist vision of neutered ‘carers’ learning the ropes of ‘bureaucratese’. Upstanding police gnash their teeth ceaselessly.

The rally was intended to be a defiant, angry clarion call: “Enough is enough!” Well, the Triumvirate, disturbed, seized control and turned it into a group hug in, “Harmony Day”. Nothing to do with the Rule of Common Law and so justice. Just bomb-out the uppity serfs with false sentiments and they’ll forget the day they were bashed, stabbed, raped, and relatives murdered and the reason why all this violence is a daily feature of Melbourne and Victoria.

The Herald Sun,which has degenerated into a cartoon parody of The Age aka “The Spencer Street Soviet”, clapped its cute little hands with joy. It gushed hogwash, acclaiming how wonderfully harmonious all Victorians are ordered to be,

Harmony falls on our city

Kelly Ryan, 13/07/09

The world was as one on the streets of  multi-cultural Melbourne yesterday.

They bore their nationalities in words and costume.

How nice. Comfy now? The editor might explain what number decree Universal Harmony is? It is easily missed among the millions of decrees that have been rammed down by Cabinet, and Parliament.

Ted Baillieu wanted a show of force, but what pretends to be Liberal MPs found a Sunday snooze-in much more interesting and one would agree but for an objection. They, and the rest of the Liberal Party wreckers helped build Brackistan. That parody, “Harmony Day” is as much a monument to their stupidity as it is to Bracks’, Brumby’s, Hulls’ and the rest of their Cabinets. They should have been out there in force feeling all that ‘harmony’. Leftists do enjoy the 7 days a week, 365 days a year comedy show that that lot is:

RED TED: Liberal leader orders his troops to march on Brumby’s Harmony Day

”Multi-culturalism” is only one of the crude means to overthrowing the Rule of Common Law and the Idiot “Right” have happy clapped all the way with it. Another way of accurately summing up multi-culturalism is; it is the Balkanisation of Victoria, and Australia. Someone help Ted Baillieu find the Balkans on a nice large map.

Ted Baillieu and the rest of what are supposed to be Liberal Party MPs, and their backers stand for nothing recognisably genuinely Liberal. Michael Kroger and his chums are responsible for this, having taken control of the Liberal Party and eradicated genuine Liberal principles, and ensured no genuine Liberal talent emerged in the Party.

Besides, why should talent emerge? So successful have that lot been in evacuating the Liberal Party of substance, there are no genuine Liberal Party members left. The upshot is that a fatuous, little man is the leader of the Liberal Party in Parliament with nothing to replace him.

A note on Kroger: He holds no executive office in the Liberal Party. Yet, he exercises control. He wouldn’t enter  genuine open Party contests for positions because he’d be pulped. Besides, he doesn’t need to.

A correction, my mistake:

Calling what sits on top a Triumvirate is an insult to real tough nuts, Roman emperors and the imperial administration. You just cannot draw the association with what tries to lord it over Victorians, seizing their inalienable Rights, grinding them down with taxes and scams called ‘alternative energy’ and ‘desalination plants’, and vicious little regulations. What really scares this lot of parasites is the day when they face Victorians gunning for them and booting them into the Yarra River.

This is not what the Liberal Party should be doing now, demolishing the Left. This is what they should have done years ago but we know why these spineless seat warmers have not and besides:

They would not hold Parliamentary seats in the name of the Liberal Party, if it were not for Kroger Kronies and Resurrectionists, KKR, and their backers.

Resurrectionists: Toadies who creep into cemeteries, dig up dead bodies and stuff them into Parliamentary seats and Party machine positions, with a twist; this lot shoot the living to make sure there are vacancies for their cadavers. Kroger is busy stuffing one into the seat of Higgins right now.

Michael Kroger is also a Director of the Institute of Public Affairs, along with William Morgan, whom Kroger hand-picked to establish a student branch of the Liberal Party at RMIT. It started with a membership of one, and remained at one. William is also son of Hugh Morgan -

destroyer of multi-billion dollar WMC. Hugh Morgan put his speech writer and fellow destroyer of the fight for free labour markets, Ray Evans onto the WMC payroll and also, for good measure, diseased Leftist and Greens fanatic, Trish Caswell.

Morgan’s appointment of Caswell to the WMC’s ‘advisory panel’ was quite a scandal, as David Revelman also recalls with great irritation in:

Dry: In Defence of Economic Freedom. A barren response from the Institute of Public Affairs

Morgan couldn’t see what is wrong with Caswell.

Inalienable Rights abuse, taxpayers abuse, Victorians abuse, Australians abuse, Liberal Party and members abuse, shareholders abuse, enterprise and free markets abuse; they all slide into one another as haze in the distance - just business as usual for this lot.

Now, with Ron Walker and de Crespigney, Morgan wants to enrich himself all over again through billions of dollars of transfers into their ‘nuclear energy company’, requiring destroying more valuable, economically efficient, large scale enterprises called coal based energy companies via carbon taxes. And never mind, either, the subsequent impact on other firms, their employees and investors, and on consumers.

This lot consider themselves brains. Man, it shows.

Michael Kroger and his not so white lies

In a television interview broadcasted during the weekend, Michael Kroger declared that “the 12 years of the Howard Government were wasted…” Kroger was responding to a rhetorical question. Bull, it was a cuing, faux rhetorical question on “how do you explain the state of the Liberal Party”. It’s a right stumper - out of office in all States’ Parliaments and the Federal Parliament. We could do no better than follow the meister of “cock- ups”.

Unfortunately, meister killerman has a dose of laryngitis when trying certain notes. Kroger expurgated them to sound good. He also has memoritic sclerosis. Otherwise, he told more than one white lie. Let’s commence with an up-beat contrast. It was the last day of the 2007 Federal election campaign when Kroger opined:

VIRGINIA TRIOLI: By this time tomorrow you’ll have had your say and we should know who will be getting the keys to the lodge and also to Kirribilli House.

Michael Kroger:… this poll is two days old so it may well indicate they are now focusing on their decision, this large group of undecideds….are moving towards the Coalition…because they’re concerned about the economy…That will be the sole reason they’re actually going back

As we know, the Liberal Party had been defeated by 2005. Hugh Morgan made it certain. Hugh Morgan, fresh from destroying multi-billion dollar WMC (he was paid handsomely for that mind-numbing exercise in incompetence) and a $700,000 oil under his arm, puckered up to the communards’ of communards’ cameras, ABC. He smiled.

There’s nothing nicer than walking out of a burned gift shop and telling modest Australians they must have a large pay cut. Why? So that wealthy spoilt brats such as he can feel holy after having ruined many others. He is in good company. The likes of neo-Marxist wealthy brats Bracks and Brumby, Green Guru Peter Garrett, and almost dead “Red Ted”. This was his grip on labour market reform.

The ACTU bosses, pulling the ALP, had to do zilch in 2007. Morgan, Minchin, HR Nicholls Society, Kroger’s mates Evans, Moore and Morgan, the CIS and IPA, ran the very campaign the ACTU was preparing to mount against free labour markets. Their case was wrong, a complete lie.

They, not the ALP and ACTU, discredited the thoroughly sound, highly moral case for free labour markets. They, not the ACTU, put Kevin Rudd and his fellow brown pantalooned cretins into office. Why didn’t Kroger, instead of the CIS and their pro-ALP switch-optioner John Humphreys, tell all and sundry: “Hey, if you won’t let me roger Australia then go with my mates (”Nuke coal energy companies” Ron Walker and Hugh Morgan), and vote ALP.” Ah, I know; he’s yellow.

I have related that Kroger not only buried material that was for Federal Cabinet, as did his fellow HR Nicholls Society Clubman and then Cabinet Minister(!) Nick Minchin. Kroger sent in his thugs to ruin Richmond Branch, slander their candidate in an upstanding, patriotic Australian of Greek extraction (Kroger’s henchmen spread the lie Prodos was a vehement racist who would be on the spot signed up by the Ku Klux Klan), and impose his loyalist to the Filipino government, Marina. Kroger master-minded the alteration of a Left’s stronghold, Richmond, into their heavily buttressed Mt. “bloody” Everest.

Saturday fortnight past, “The Australian” ran a spread on Kroger, Costello and the collapse of the Liberal Party. The journos who wrote it, passed by the editor, asserted Kroger’s control over the Victorian division of the Liberal Party is the stuff of legend. To check how reliable they are, it is obvious they cannot answer:

1. How he and jointly with his bed pal, Costello, can stack branches, impose candidates, and close down branches?

2. How Kroger could sign the human “dipstick”, Julian Sheezel, a $5,000 a week pay check, when Kroger held no (and still holds no) executive position?

3 For a presumed ordinary member of the Liberal Party, why do the mainstream media seek him out for official explanations of the state of the Liberal Party?

4. Why, with a decade under Keating and Hawke, over a decade under a Howard, Kroger and his fellow not at all genuine Liberals supplied advice worthy of either a snail or a snivelling ‘rightwing’ ALP faction?

Kroger is fighting for himself. I have no clue why. He bought the Victorian Liberal Party -not with his own money (his Brahman backers gave him the lolly money). He has a stranglehold over the Party, via the KKR re-write of the constitution and his “Administrative Committee”. What, then, is his worry?

Kroger has nothing to fight for. Darn, I’m wrong. With his pals in the HR Nicholls Society, IPA and CIS, and his Parliamentary wing acolytes such as Minchin, there is all to fight for: “Me, me, and them thingos I call pals for appearances sake. That’s why I like old Nick Minchin; he appearances before me and helps pulls wabbit wallets out of fancy hats. Aargh, Minch has a scholar’s grip on both but he can’t grip mine - and I’ve stuck the precious stuff where Nicky can’t get ‘em.”

Kroger on why the Liberal Party is on the skids, argues “how to commit murder and enjoy cake with cream on top”. Kroger gets away with it unlike, say, the anti-heroes in greats Kroger is entirely unsuited to star in such as, “Arsenic and Old Lace”. Kroger’s Hollywood movie lead role is Porker Pig and he is a natural.

Kevin “Mussolini” Rudd’s another statist or a fascist?

It is not a question really. There is no distinction in force between using ‘fascist’ and ‘statist’, but I have received objections to the use of the term fascism. The first is, the left have succeeded in nullifying the word, and the second is, readers might find it offensive, and so not read on. Well, a spade is a spade and not dining cutlery, and the Rudd Cabinet is a fascist cabinet. Here are the reason’s why:

The cult of nature, for which millions of Australians are to be sacrificed. We don’t need to expand on this here.

Corporatism
Wayne Swann in Parliament stated: foreign investment in Australia, while “welcome”, ‘must meet national aims’. In free markets, investment is sinking capital into production of capital goods and final goods, to satisfy what free men and women value and not what nasty, little cretins like Swann, Rudd, Crean, Ferguson and Penny Wong dictate Australians may or may not have.

Secondly, the suborning of enterprises to carry out centrally dictated ‘economic plans’, much assisted by vainglorious businessmen who believe supping with the devil is a good thing - until the devil seizes hold of the fork and eviscerates their firms.

Another symptom is Rudd’s dud, the 1,000 strong conference of nobodies who are also enamoured with the idea of playing at being little jackbooted dictators. Though, the real point to the ‘conference’ should be obvious, and it is not Rudd’s rubbish about -long-term vision’.

Real, entrepreneurial companies, take a very long -term view of things. That is why, for example, BHP, or ICI sink billions of dollars of capital, even build whole towns as aprt of their pay to labour. What we have involved here is information informing decision making that only classical economics, now conducted only by the “Austrian School”, explains. The sort of information required that only free markets generate. Of economics, Rudd, as is his finger Puppet Wayne Swann, is entirely ignorant.

No, it is to prepare a nastier surprise of making Australians as responsible for the actions of Cabinet as the Ministers themselves. The devastation that will be wrought by Rudd’s ‘Watermelon Red’ policies, his national socialist economic planning, his policy of pricing many Australians onto the scrap heap of the unemployed (and these are just a few of the items by which he will immiserate millions of Australians), will be depicted as the ‘collectively agreed will of the people’ and ‘brainstorm’ of the visionary 1000. Rudd, furthermore, will thus immediately blame the 1000 nobodies for the hell he is preparing to set loose.

That fascist slob, who threw millions of Americans onto the bonfire of unemployment, FDR once said, “together we will fight the depression and win”. How odd it is, that line is frequently uttered by Rudd, ” together we can fight inflation… together we can beat this”. Even odder, that expression has been favoured by wall the worst dictators in history.

Nationalism, not patriotism, stamps the Rudd cabinet.

It cannot be ignored the Howard cabinet, in its last two terms, began veering onto the Nationalist Socialist road. With it, organised sport, and the cult of the ‘body’. To this, Rudd has announced Australia must host a World Soccer Cup tournament as a matter of national pride and, I suppose, “group bonding” - (”boonga boonga” and “oom” to that rubbish).

Notice the collectivist strain, made all the nastier, when inflation is not, for example, prices rising, but the RBA forging money hand over fist. Contrary to Liberal Party fascists, Swann’s complaint about inflation is not mistaken. Unfortunately, just like Liberal fascists, the ALP ‘brown-shorts’ are ignorant as to the cause, and thus the cure. So, Rudd and Swann, can trollop around the country, mouthing nasty little slogans, but like that equally, rightwing fascist ignoramus Peter Costello, they won’t stop inflation.

In the meantime, they are setting up commissars of pricing. Indeed, Rudd has a bureaucratic solution for everything. He is a committed central planner and he will succeed as central planners do, in the wreaking of economic carnage.

The top note is the incipient totalitarianism in the Rudd-ALP fascist ‘grand vision’, and for the Rudd administration to proceed as they declared, increasingly naked totalitarian force is inevitable.

As a summary of what is plain to observe, the real question is, how did things reach such a pass, that a Shadow ministry of fascist cretins be flung into Cabinet?

The answer is the left wing and the right wing, from Malcolm Fraser and on, have completely betrayed liberal principles, and with it completely wrecked the Liberal Party.

The wash up was the likes of Costello, Kroger, Nick Minchin, Nelson, Ian Campbell, David Kemp, Chris Pyne. These conceited, ignorant, self-serving wreckers were complemented by the equally culpable CIS, IPA, HR Nicholls Society, Andrew Bolt and Janet Albrechtson. This lot not only wrecked the Liberal Party and handed victory to Rudd and the ALP. That lot put in place many of the Fascist policies Rudd is now busy intensifying and adding to.

Yet, that was the whole point to Albrechtson’s neo-Nazi call for a ‘rightwing’ institutional coup-de tat. That lot have never been Liberals. There aim has been the same as the Left’s, power and incipiently totalitarian control over Australians. These parasites prepared the way for Kevin “Mussolini” Rudd.

The Bracks-Brumby regime of Brackistan has announced another bolt to ensure its totalitarian aims. I’ve long said that Bracks, Brumby and Hulls were bent on totalitarianism. I’ve been ridiculed for it in the past. Well, the is freely bandied today by the media, by serving policemen, and others who until today, would never have said that against Bracks and Brumby administrations.

I said some time ago Brackistan is an indication of where not only the Federal ALP but the Coalition parties were heading. Well, the day has arrived, and it comes in the form of that oleaginous liar called Kevin “Mussolini” Rudd.

It wasn’t for mere amusement I set the line in the title banner of this site:

Free markets, capital, absolute property rights, and entrepreneurs are the bedrock of civilisation. They dragged man out of the gutters, civilised him, dignified him, gave him liberty.Socialism is an excuse to pauperise untold millions, enslave untold millions, murder untold millions, over a century now: Why has the Liberal Party shifted to the code of savages?

Michael Kroger, backed by his Toorak Brahmin Incest Group, is making his move to strangle Liberal Party federally.

In the course of the articles tracing the treachery of Kroger, his Toorak Brahmin backers, and his stick puppets during 2006, one wrote the following article to warn the Federal Liberal Party Kroger’s aims did not stop at the boundaries of Victoria:

This is neither a joke nor an exaggeration, but it is a bombshell. It really is staggering their sheer hide, conceit, deceit, and contempt for the Liberal Party that, having wrecked the Victorian Party at the State level, the Kroger Parasite Party are now preparing to do the same to the Victorian seats of the Federal Liberal Party.

Federal Liberals of other states should read this. Actually, therein is the rub, for the Liberal Party to retain the Treasury benches, or the ALP to win it, the two crucial states to win are N.S.W. and Victoria. A loss, a large loss of seats, in either state, can swing an election to the opponent ( which is what did happen in the recent 2007 Federal election, in both States).

The KKR have repeatedly delivered Bracks the Victorian Treasury Bench and at each election with increased majorities. The 2006 (State) election is no different; the Liberal Party is set to lose more seats. With the imposition of `proportional representation’, the betting is the Liberals will be wiped out as a party in the upper house the, Legislative Council…

Bingo, the Federal Liberal Party can lose to the ALP simply by being wiped out in Victoria. The Kroger party takes over the Federal Wing and that is what will happen to the Federal Party in Victoria…

The above concentrated on Kroger’s efforts to stack Federal seats with his glove puppets and control, with his pal Petey, the Federal Parliamentary wing. As a matter of fact, Kroger has succeeded with one of his stick puppet, Helen Kroger…

Well, Michael Kroger, is moving to get his way, control of the Federal Liberal Party, and it is no joke. I have been informed of it by a number of, very angry silverbacks in the Liberal Party. There are heavy weights, who back Kroger, are moving to, they hope, ensure it: it is a very grave matter.

Perhaps it is worthwhile recapitulating two transparently revealing incidents, both during the 2006 Liberal branch pre-selection rounds:

1. Petey Boy Costello had to come out in the open to help his bosom bash up the Kooyong branch selection committee, because they were defiant, they were about to turf out that snivelli8ng, lefty bean bag called a di Goergiou.

2. Selection Committees are Kroger’s “rubber stamps”, Helen Kroger’s nomination in 2006 for a safe Federal Senate seat reflected: The committee did their duty as Kroger’s rubber stamps,

Helen has appeared before the Selection Committee of the Branch for the safe seat she craves for. The point to the exercise is, of course, is not Helen Kroger, or any other Kroger Krony and Glove Puppet, providing good reasons, and demonstrating sound credentials to Branches, to only consider any of them for appointment to a seat. No, for the KKR, a Branch Selection Committee is merely a formality, with a KKR thug telling the Committee:

“Vassal serfs, you have appointed me to the seat. Any objections and I shall send Tony Barry around to kick your heads in and, you won’t be able to do a thing about it. Now, piss off, I have to write my maiden speech.”

Helen Kroger might as well have said that to Committee because, there is no difference between the tenor of that line and the tenor of what she actually did say to the Committee. Moreover, in saying it, she single handedly launched a KKR purging of the Victorian Liberal Party, and their own version of Krystallnacht - and burning of the Reichstag, 104 Exhibition St.
Helen could have entertained the Committee, all night long, and illuminated for their benefit what really counts, according to “Maximum Leader”. Namely, the Committee’s duty as serfs to Kroger, and Helen as their Branch Uber Lordess…

She did declare what might be called a policy to the Committee. A very peculiar policy it is too, loaded with sections headed by such interesting titles as: `Thuggery’; `Coercion’; `Revenge’; `There will be only one Victorian Liberal Party, The Kroger Party’; Ingrates are to be sacked and booted out of the Party’.

Yes, while she was reticent to mention even a hint of the first 6 policies, Helen waxed long and enthusiastically on the 7th policy. Incredible, so self-absorbed, believing herself a lady, and possessed of high learning, rather than the common as muck thug and moron she is, she told, not explained but told, the Committee what, as a Federal MP, she would do to the Victorian Party…

A very reliable informant has told me, a mole, the KKR are preparing to purge 104 and that a number of employees are nervous because of the immediate threat, they will be sacked, on Helen Krogers’ orders. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, some employees are to be sacked for even being suspected of being not altogether loyal to the Krogers and their Party. They will not be sacked for being defective in the performance of their jobs:

The cause is the Kroger Party’s vendetta against anyone they suspect of passing on information which does not betray the Liberal Party, but which discloses what the Kroger Party and their glove puppets inside 104 are doing to the Victorian Liberal Party.

Kroger’s and his puppets’ disgusting thuggery against Richmond branch and Prodos is typical how they treat branches. The rub being, for the Kroger Party to stangle the Party, to impose their own candidates requires tight control over the Party, and that is exactly what Kroger and his Toorak brahmin backers have:

1. Kroger’s stick puppets jobbed into executive positions in 104 Spring Steet.
2. Control through the administration of the Party, and how is set out in this item -

Kroger and Costello, with their chums, continue to destroy the Victorian and Federal Liberal Parties.
August 6th, 2007

A telling detail is :

In summary, the committees are tightly controlled by Kroger and his treacherous pals…

The Richmond branch and Prodos had no recourse, and the reality is no branches and their members have recourse against the Kroger Party.

There are Liberal’s who still find it difficult to accept Kroger controls the Party. Their reason: “he doesn’t hold an official position’. That it was Kroger who signed Julian ‘Sheetzel’ Sheezel’s pay rise contract ( $5,000 per week) shows, for someone with no executive authority at all, and whose membership is the class ordinary, he exercises executive authority.

Furhtermore, as outlined in the item on the circumstances of Hhelen Kroger’s Senate nomination, and in some other items, Michael Kroger dictated the closure of branches, and ordered members cannot establish new branches. This, at a time when membership was falling rapidly, and is still in freefall.

The KKR Party controls the Party administratively. It controls the branches. It dictates nomiinations. Liberal forums are closed shops for Kroger’s brains trust, the nutters in the HR Nicholls Society, IPA and orther organs run by senile clowns.

Having written on Kroger’s grand strategy for winning elections, one instead turns to pithy statment by the editor of Brookesnews:

After another crushing defeat by the state Labor Party Kroger put his tactical genius on public display with the opinion that the Liberals do not have to worry because the Labor Party always screws up the economy and when that happens again the electorate will come crawling back. What a brilliant strategy: let’s just hang around until the Labor Government stuffs things up and then the Libs will be back in clover. No wonder the Labor Party now dominates Australia’s political landscape to the point where we have virtually become a one-party state.

Economics sank the Howard Government

That is the only strategy he has ever fathomed, but here is the rub: What is missing: Liberal principles, the engagment of opponents and public in open, vigorous debate, and selection of candidates with spine and stamina and brains to run on that basis. Australian voters are just so many dumb oafs who, when in pain, will run to Mummy.

“Michael Kroger, is moving to get his way, control of the Federal Liberal Party”
Aided by some of his venal backers. Kroger has fired the first public shot in his campaign to take hold of the party federally in his grip of death, with an article in the Australian:

Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger, on Sky News Agenda, on how to rejuvenate conservatives

The article is not an analysis of the election defeat, it is Kroger’s manifesto laying out how he will magnify himself and enthrall the Party Australia wide with the delights of eternal serfdom. Mark this interesting assertion (directive ):

This is not a five or 10-year repair job. You could fix all of the organisational and structural problems of the Liberal Party within 12 months if you had the will to do it.

Kroger then lays out his grand plan and, readers, and guess what:

It is a summation of what he has done to the Victorian Party, which is the point to why I opened up with citing the above items. Yes, what he sets out, is exactly as detailed in the above articles, including administrative centralisation, and reduction of branches to rubber stamps, and prohibition of establishment of new branches, unless ordered by Michael ‘Ghenghis Khan the Lesser” Kroger, and the freedom to disicipline ( smear, stab in the back and so forth) any members who object.

So, Kroger has his left fist firmly attached to the throat of the Victorian division in his grip of death. Soon, he hopes, he will have all the remaining States’ Divisions right handed grip of death. Well, the man is ambidextrous after all.

Ladies and gentleman, this is only the first item on Kroger, Conqueror of Liberals: Ghenghis Khan the Lesser; terror of Liberals, friend and kissing cousin to the left. Stay tuned.

Kommissar Kroger and Komrade Costello undermining the Liberal Party II

The complete failure of the HR Nicholls Society on reform of labour markets is due to their appalling economic illiteracy. Having covered that, and Brookesnews doing so exhaustively over the years, the focus is:

What Michael Kroger did to undermine the case and the result, the Federal Cabinet was left hanging.

Senior party figures, early in the piece (2004-2005), disturbed by the prospect of those incompetents, Des Moore, Ray Evans and Hugh Morgan, running the case, made approaches to Sheezel, and Kroger, to remedy the situation.

Sheezel wears his dunce’s cap proudly.

I had it from my mole, Sheezel’s reaction, when handed a copy of Mr. Jackson’s, The Labour Market Wars, was, “What use is that to me?” In other words, he couldn’t confess he’s dense, and so couldn’t absorb it. Mr. Joe Cambria also disclosed some revealing things about Kroger’s stick puppet’s response in his article,

Liberal Party treats members with contempt ( Brookesnews, 17/10/05)

Kroger’s Treachery.

Kroger was handed material, to be passed on to Federal Liberal MPs, economic advisers and strategists, advice they needed in order to run the case soundly, forth-rightly, successfully.

The contents of the material, inclusive of Labour Market Wars, contained:

1. A thorough explanation of all the mistakes and falsehoods, in economics, and fallacies committed by Morgan, Evans and Moore.

2. A thorough explanation of the Union claims, and the arguments of their hired guns, Godfrey and Belchamber, and why they are false.

3. A thorough explanation of labour market economics.

4. How the opponents can be pulverised

5. That the voters must be trusted and given every reason as to why the case is sound, and the basis of a campaign to engage the voters.

All the above was handed over to Kroger, before the HR Nicholls Society could wreck the case, and before the Cabinet had fully committed the case. What is more, neither the Party, nor the Cabinet for that matter, didn’t have to pay a cent for that solid, well grounded advice. What was Kroger’s response?

Kroger said that he would pass the material on. By that, the senior figures assumed, naturally, ‘…to those in need of it’. Well, there’s a problem, Kroger’s notion of commitments is idiosyncratic.

Yes, Kroger passed the material on, to his chums in the HR Nicholls Society. They, naturally, promptly buried it. After all, it would not do to recommend papers and the economists who prepared the material, for that would have showed them to be what they are, economic illiterates.

Out of hubris, and out of personal gain - fat pay checks for doing nothing at all, it was better to betray the case than ensure the material was laid out before Liberal staffers and MPs. It was safe to burn the evidence eg., the sponge -bags put up by the Kroger Party machine as Federal MPs, would not upset the apple cart, as Minchin demonstrated by his ostrich behaviour and cowardice, in retreating from engagement in the case.

Minchin turned up in Melbourne, to apologise to the HR Nicholls over the resulting fiasco!

What do we have in that lot? A bunch of venal, shallow, capricious dunderheads, who would rather default on their obligations than admit there are those who are actually equipped to mount the case, and to take on the left. A bunch of illiterates, who played games with adults’ affairs, marking them as no better than juvenile delinquents.

Make no mistake, Morgan, Evans, and Moore defaulted on their ‘voluntary’ undertaking to serve the Liberal Party in this case.

A bunch of self regarding, venal, craven buffoons who don’t give a fig for what the case is really about, and in their conceit, treated not only and Liberal supporters, Cabinet, and Australians with a contempt so transparent they might as well have streaked stark naked down Collins Street. Yet, that is what Kroger showed too, he’s a streaker, in handing the material to his chums and not to the Federal Party figures who needed the material.

Something more to it…

Kroger really couldn’t pass the material directly on to the Federal strategists, advisers, and senior MPs without his, and Costello’s single celled brain trust having first vetted it. After all, Kroger and Costello thirst for Federal power. How would it have looked if outside talent showed them up to be the ignoramuses that pair actually are? Their total control over the Party is involved too, the fear of its loss, something they work hard to prevent.

No one entertains any doubt Kroger and Costello are thugs. No one entertains any doubt Costello remains Treasurer only because of Prime Minister John Howard. Without Howard, forget the Prime Ministership, Costello would not survive as a junior Cabinet Minister – though, that is why Kroger and Costello are stuffing safe and well held marginals with stick puppets, to ensure they do have a power base in Canberra.

Given the HR Nicholls Society, Moore, Evans and Morgan severely embarrassed the Cabinet, and wrecked the case, what does that say about Costello, as much as Kroger? The club is, after all, not simply Kroger’s brain trust; it is also a support for his fellow thuggee, Peter Costello.

However, in the first instance, the betrayal is Kroger’s crime, another abysmal act of treachery on his part.

Reflection on Kroger and the HR Nicholls Society inmates, in particular- Des Moore, Ray Evans, Hugh Morgan, and the qualities and merit of alley cats and possums.

Though smelly, vicious, flea ridden, screeching vermin, alley cats and possums are much nicer creatures – being dumb animals, you can shoot them. So much for alley cats and possums and their only redeeming advantage.

“Treachery” - readers, that is not an exaggeration. Consider how grave, how serious the matter is: If the Unions win out, and effective minimum wages higher than market prices is imposed as policy again, what will ensue is nothing less than a 100% pay cut for many, it comes in the form of unemployment.

As it is, due to Moore, Evans, Morgan, and Kroger, the case has been dealt a severe set-back. It is not mistaken to say the public campaign has been a long running disaster, right from the first appearance of Morgan on ABC TV to launch the campaign in 2005. What do voters make of the current advertising campaign?

One proffers: infantile, “dumbed down”, just the sort of propaganda tripe the Bracks-Brumby regime pumps out daily. Why should the reform campaign echo loudly brainwashing efforts of the regime of Brackistan?

The answer has been laid out above: the advertising campaigns put together by retarded juveniles reflect the root problem, the case was not soundly grounded in true economic theory from the start. Kroger and his fellow liars made sure it would not be soundly grounded.

It is not mistaken to say, the opposition,- the Unions and the States’ Labour administrations (but not, amusingly, Federal ALP) have successfully campaigned against reform. In Victoria, the HR Nicholls Society, Kroger, and the Parliamentary wing led by Teddy, are so hopelessly out of their shallow depth, the Prime Minister is now having to take on not only Rudd, but that socialist lying thug, Brumby, too.

Through all this, the Prime Minister has had to endure the sustained effort of Kroger and Costello to undermine him. They handed him drivel written by Moore, Evans, and Morgan, palmed it off as a solid case, and as a sure-fire way to run it, and to fight the left.

No, one is not over-stepping the mark fingering Costello. His “power-base” is the KKR. Kroger is his Kommissar, who keeps the vassals in the Victorian Liberal Party in their place. They are both in the HR Nicholls Society, and use it for support. Immediately, however, Kroger betrayed the Cabinet, the Liberal Party, and voting Australians again.

You see, readers, principle is not in Kroger’s character. To promote talented people, to assist in seeing Cabinet receives material and advice it needs does not serve the aims of Costello and Kroger. They don’t give a stuff about Liberal principles, about the Liberal Party, its members, and their fellow Australians. They are loyal only to themselves, and their Toorak Brahmin Backers.

Costello wants power, Kroger wants it, and their backers want them to be jobbed into the Prime Minister’s offices too, but for different reasons spelled out in the proverbial quid pro quo. Labour market reform has no bearing to their aims, and so it is dispensable as useless to them. Thus did Kroger betray the Liberal Party, the Cabinet, Australians. Thus is Kroger as culpable for the failure as are his chums, Des Moore, Ray Evans and Hugh Morgan. Well, they have many qualities such as:

They, the whole lot of them, are not bright sparks. They are, selfish, callous cowards. They are, economic illiterates. They play games with adult affairs. They wreak havoc upon all that they touch. Ruination of many Australians does not disturb their calculations, they come first, always. Alley cats can be trusted before that lot.

Buffoons? No, buffoons, compared to that lot, are kindly, gentle eccentrics, who draw the distinction between meum and tuum.

“The worst thing” : Inept defenders of Liberty.”

Following Bastiat’s summary of combat, yet, “Inept” is rather a polite description of the HR Nicholls Society, the IPA, the CIS, Quadrant, and the journalists pretending to be economic commentators, Alan Wood and Terry McCrann. How bad that lot is typified by the HR Nicholls Society’s demolition of what is a sound, thus highly moral, case, freeing up labour markets.

It is curious, however, to muse, as the reform was a major objective of the Federal Cabinet, the same failed to prepare the case far more thoroughly before launching it, by seeking out and inviting others who could supply sound ,as well as contrary advice ( to examine it thoroughly) rather than relying on the HRNS. In fact, the really amusing thing, they need not have paid a single cent for sound advice.

Mr. Jackson laid the case out exhaustively on Brookesnews and then in Labour Market Wars. Moreover, even funny, in two podcasts, in a series of seven, by Prodos, Mr. Jackson not only reprised the economics of labour markets, and why the opponents were wrong, and where they were wrong, but, whether it was his intention to do so or not I can’t tell, but it comes across as:

He also mapped out a public campaign for the Cabinet. He laid out how to take on union bosses, hit them with accurate fire, and win. Moreover, he made plain, the campaign had to pay respect to voters, laying out the case soundly, to demonstrate it is sound, and thus win agreement through sweet reason.

Labor Market Reform: How Unions and Governments Cause Unemployment

2006Labor Market Reform: Can unions protect wages?

[The full series is available on the link attached to the above podcasts.]

But that is not what the Cabinet and the HRNS did. They did not run on sound economic theory. They did not study their opponents. They did not study what they had to do convince voters. They did not study their opponents, and discover how to hurt them, and in open public exchange in and outside the media, in and outside of Parliament, blow for blow.

Their failure and cowardice ensured voters were not engaged. Voters went to sleep and the opponents to reform found the battlefield clear to run riot over a pack of puny, inept twits - principally Hugh Morgan, Des Moore and Ray Evans.

Their failure and cowardice , typical of leftists and rightists, told voters that the in-group regard them as nothing more than children. Children, not anyone of reason, are spoken down to and disciplined. Disgustingly, the tactics taken were those favoured by charlatans, gurus, and the left, regard Australians as infantile and spank them.

Indeed, those three gurus killed the campaign on the very night it was launched, as we have written up. Hugh Morgan, fresh from purchasing a $750,000 painting, appeared on the ABC to tell us that Australians on the minimum wage were overpaid. How insular, how nasty, how unprincipled, how callous, how contemptuous of Australians this multimillionaire was, and still is ( as we will prove in another article).

It is worth keeping to the fore: that lot are completely ignorant of the economics of labour markets to the extent that they asserted as true the very falsehoods the opponents used to try and defeat the reforms and, unfortuantely, with great success ( we will adrumbate how ret their victory is in another item). Jackson has covered the falsehoods that not only theleft told, but also self styled free market warriors iterated as true economic thoerems. I’ve covered a number of what are not mere falsehoods, not even mistakes, but lies. ( The files will be up opn this site Wednesday, as well as those covering the KKR).

One thing I didn’t cover is:

Capital theory is completely missing in the papers and statements of Des Moore, Ray Evans and Hugh Morgan. By this, I mean elementary theory, for capital and capital formation is itself a massive field in economic theory. For readers wishing to find out and learn what they will never get a hint of from the HR Nicholls Society, the IPA and the CIS, we will put up a reading list but, be warned, don’t bother if you are like that lot, and won’t apply yourself to absorbing and understanding the subject matter.

This article will be resumed after Tuesday next.

The Victorian Liberal Party Campaign, “Headless Chooks”

What with Ted the Wimp Baillieu, whom Liberal members are now also calling Ted the Toorak Village Idiot, and the Marshmallows, Kroger and his Parasite Party, and Kroger’s “Braindead Trust, a party of party of garden gnomes would be a better punt.

At least garden gnomes lighten up, are jolly little fellows, tough ( they take heavy weather) and they don’t stab good Liberals in the back, unlike Kroger, his stick puppets, and Kroger’s (second) Brain Dead Trust - the HR Nicholls Society. ( “Brains Trust” is a slight exaggeration; some are of the view a lobotomised single cell trying to spark is no brain at all.)

If there is a campaign code-name, it couldn’t be, or shouldn’t be, ” shock and awe”. For, it is shocking, but not awesome. It’s a shocking campaign, as Liberal members mutter around Victoria .

1. The strategy, crossed fingers, Victorians will run to the Liberal Party, fleeing the Bracks regime, is working a treat. Ted is going to be put down polling day. While the Bracks Govt.  is detested for its tax burden,  its squander, its ‘laws’, its hectoring, finger wagging nanny state odious list of sins, its armies of enforcers, and the possibility of a depression worse than that which Cain and Kirner made Victorians suffer, it doesn’t register with the Toorak Village Idiot and the Marshmallows, and the clowns in 104 Exhibition Street:

Victorians aren’t about to replace Bracks with a pack of headless chooks, who will be no better than that lot in Goovt..

After all, the Parliamentary wing, for example, supported the Blasphemy Law. As for tax and squander, Ted is in a hot auction against Bracks: ” Take this Stevie, I’m going to tax and spend Victorians into the gutters faster than you.” Hot stuff, but then he is Ted the Toorak Village Idiot.

Listen, Teddy Boy, if Liberals members wished to a join a socialist party, they would have, and not bothered with the Liberal Party.

Let’s try the hard question: What do they stand for? Not Liberal Principles. They could be mistaken for another ALP faction. Not that many of the Candidates have a clue as to what they are on about.

Indeed, that is the whole object to Kroger imposing candidates, to make certain no candidates of  ability stand. It shows, he’s stuffed seats with many who bear a spooky resemblance to his stick puppets in 104 Exhibition St., and his Brainless Trust.

Liberal members around Victoria have mentioned to me they are really hard put to contemplate voting for the Candidates. They, of course, want to see Bracks bashed, but, they are fed up with the contempt Kroger and his Toorak Political Brahmin Backers have for them, and the spineless, brain dead glove puppets they have imposed.

What is to be made of candidates who believe they have a grip on economics because they are accountants? One candidate was totally stumped when a life-long Liberal member, replied, ” No, that’s not economics.” That Liberal  asked the candidate three questions to find out whether the Candidate had principles, guts, and a brain. ” The candidate is a complete moron. A dud, who holds economics is an accounting spreadsheet and a rolodex.

While some ALP canidates and sitting members seeking re-election have been on the husting for, by now, the best of 4 months, Kroger’s choices have been struggling to leanr by rote the campaign script drawn up by pr. types and Kroger’s stick puppets in 104 Exhibition St. It shows, once someone asks an unscripted question, they are lost. As one Liberal member mused, it’s like watching a snail running the Melbourne Cup, no, snails run faster. They need prompters to help them figure out a half intellignet answer.

In the meantime, Richmondites have been flooding the local hospital. their sides split from laughter at Maina Walkley, who launched her campaign in Maidstone Village. The candidate for Maidstone has a headache and would like to cure it by giving Maina and Kroger a good boot up their backsides.

Neither Party, the ALP,or Kroger’s Liberal Party are fit for office. The former are malfeasent thugs, the latter are morons.

Evans loosed two arrows, and shot himself. “Brains Trust” No.5

Evans’ submission to the Fair Pay Commission exceeded Moore’s in grandeur. (1), and it’s highly entertaining too. He entertained the Unions, and others who attended, all commented soon after, and many others besides. The July hearing was long after Cabinet had dismissed the HRNS. Evans could have titled his submission: ‘My Parting Shot at Ingrates and Papists’. Let Evans speak!

“the very public endorsement by the Prime Minister of this proposal, is a tragic turning away from policies and advocacy which have transformed Australian economic life in the last 15 years. Any increase in the size of the ‘welfare trench’ (!? another HRNS novelty) in which (employment) contracts between … job (seekers) and (employers)… are made illegal (merely because the Prime Minister does not agree with the terms of the contract)…”

“The people who are hurt are … the unskilled…(and) long-term unemployed. They have no-one to speak for them: not the unions, not the church leaders… not the Prime Minister.”

By “advocacy”, he refers to, “I”, “Me”, and “We”. The HRNS have dominated advocacy’ of reform for not 15 years, but over 20 years. It shows; they’ve wrecked the case and spiked debate. That is why the anti-free market media, and ACTU are keen to keep the HRNS on lead. Cabinet’s dismissal of the HRNS isn’t tragic; the tragedy is they should never have engaged them.

(What Evans means by ‘advocacy’, is for another item.)

Evans is a comic, or the PM god! Further, the PM, “turning” from reform (!), made himself captive to neo-Marxists, is code for: “Rotten Cabinet, they hurt us the HRNS.” Besides, Evans wouldn’t know what a neo Marxist is, even if it slugged him.

“…an understanding… Marxian in its modern antecedents…”

An article corrected Evans, 7 months before his submission (!):

“Mr Ray Evans… charges the Howard Government of accepting “the Marxist dogmas which inspired the trade union movement of the 1880s and 1890s”…(and concluded) imbalance-of-power argument used to justify ‘collective bargaining’ is the last remnant of a “Marxist class-war mindset”.

Unionism in the English speaking world in the 1880s and 1890s was no more inspired by Marxism than… This is not the first time that Mr Evans has asserted “… the entire regulatory edifice of unions, tribunals, employer bodies, is based on the Marxian fallacy of class struggle…”(2)

Evans continued onto Cardinal Archbishop Pell!

“an understanding shared by influential church leaders … and Cardinal George Pell, (who) may have been influenced more by Thomas Aquinas than by Karl Marx.

This makes his incursions into economic history, with his propensity to get the story completely wrong, all the more serious.”

“…it comes from such a prestigious source [Pell], it is a dangerous fantasy.”

Much is wrong in Pell’s Quadrant articles, but he’s only in need of economics. For, Pell is no neo-Marxist - even protean. Neither were, Aristotle, Aquinas, and the scholastics, who founded economics. Evans has no excuse for his defects in economics and history: Following Evans, history of economics began 10.am, yesterday.

He’s impervious to correction of major mistakes in facts and in explanation, remarkable. If he were a pupil, he would be marked down as slothful, intractable, and a clutz.

Neither gentleman is in a position to go after Evans. If they were, Evans would not have smeared them. Yet, Evans sunk himself. Evans’ remarks are extraordinary, for their venom and cowardly delivery. While the attack against Howard is his reaction to Cabinet’s dismissal of the HRNS, his attack against Pell is whiffy with anti-Catholicism.

Evans, and Moore, grew up in the 50’s, an age of ‘ecumenical’ hatred in Australia. A senior figure asked, “Can you name anyone in the HR club who is a Catholic?” I replied, “None.” “Interesting, isn’t it.” Before finishing this item, one enjoyed a snackfest with other senior figures; here’s a morsel:

A: “I know Evans and, he hates Catholics”.

Would Evans have smeared Howard if he were still an adviser to Cabinet? Of course not, it’s easy to imagine the saccharine, sycophantic nonsense he’d have written, while still smearing Pell. It’s an insular, myopic sort of twit to write all that, believing many would agree, or not notice.

Senior figures in Melbourne are disgusted by Evans’ tripe. This isn’t the 1950’s. Catholics are no longer confined to professions, unions, and armed services Many are businessmen and executives, all around Australia. Bang go the consultancies.

Whatever those lot might have presumed, they have only offended, roughly, 30 – 40% of Australians. The hot seller out now is: ‘The Evans Way: Tact; and Identifying and Pulverising Treacherous Leftists.”

The reasons for this series on the HRNS are now public. It is not indulgence in tittle-tattle about Kroger, and the “Brains Trust”. They are supplying all the incontrovertible evidence.

Their papers show: they are not even struggling general readers in economics; they are not gentlemen - “Vicious fishwives” is heard around Melbourne; they are cowards, whose notion of debate belongs to the left of the ALP (they could be mistaken for ALP agents).

The Federal Cabinet can cut the burden of Universities: plug in every student into the websites of the Universal Professors of Everything (Evans, Moore), the Great College HRNS, and affiliates (IPA, SGS, CIS OO). History, economics, philosophy, law, theology, everything under the sun for the price of an internet hook-up. Wow.

1.Ray Evans Submission to the Fair Pay Commission, 28th of July 20062.Gerard Jackson, Labour Market Reform and the dismal failure of the HR Nicholls Society, 2nd of January 2006

The HRNS’ 2 submissions to the Fair Pay Commission’s July hearing: The ACTU was delighted. “Brains Trust”, No.4.

Des Moore and Ray Evans each made a submission to the July hearing of the Fair Pay Commission (1,2). Being absent of economics, the submissions are revealing for entirely different reasons.

Any submission to the Commission would, presumably, contain a proposition and the case for why the proposition is sound, an economic case in fact. What did Evans and Moore submit?

Moore’s paper is 2 ½ pages long, bears a grandiloquent title, and littered with the perpendicular “I”, eg.:

“I have outlined them in some detail in my article…”

“I refer in particular to my comments on the decision….

“I have published in the media other briefer articles on the subject which I assume you will also be accessing.”

That’s Moore’s submission in a nutshell, “I”, “my”, and “we”. A female journalist told me, smiling, The HRNS is referred to by journalists as the ‘Ray Evans – Des Moore Self-Promotion Society’. It’s not a joke, why not is now crystal clear.

Moore shows his classical literary learning in a nice, callous touch. He quotes Luke 6:20. Not a few have noted Moore’s delicacy.

Ray Evans’ paper has a modest title but overtook Des in the “look at me stakes”. His paper is 5 ½ pages”, and published under the HRNS letterhead, with a postscript: “Mr. Ray Evans is the President of the HRNS.” Is that for life, or just all eternity?

Two things are cleared up. They don’t have to submit a thorough submission; the Commission has only to read their mighty thin corpus of learned articles to discover all that they need to know. The only authorities in the world are Moore, Evans, and the HRNS.

They are not merely conceited. They are full of hubris. It seems it never occurred to them, those who attended the hearing would regard their ‘submissions’ as the efforts of witless clowns.

Taken with Moore’s paper on minimum wages conceding the entire ACTU case ( ), is it any wonder Union officials call them pompous buffoons? Or, why a senior executive (and an economist) of a large concern, remarked on reading them:

“They make me cringe.”

Moore and Evans did splendidly. They annoyed the Commission, and greatly entertained union officials. The ACTU is very pleased, because they only watched Moore and Evans inform the Commission, the ‘the ACTU is right’.

It should be evident to readers now why the anti- free labour market media wish to keep the HRNS to the fore: To drown out any economist including Jackson who do have a grip and can run the case soundly and aggressively.

The Unions and the left-dominated media are happy for that lot to continue playing games with serious matters because of the implicit ‘we told you so’:

“We told you that’s what that lot are like. We told you what that lot and their reform are all about.”

And, that’s right, that is what the HRNS has been doing for 20 years, and the rotten thing about it is, they are completely wrong about the case for the otherwise sound and highly moral measure of freeing labour markets.

What is making Liberals choke with fury is, how could that lot have been promoted in the Liberal Party, to dominate advice and debate? The answer is Kroger, and his ‘Brains Trust.”

It begs the question, if Moore and Evans could submit that rubbish to the Commission, what were they telling cabinet?

” Trust me/us, I/we know all that is known. Just put up the Bill, and the whole world will see that I, Des Moore, and I, Ray Evans, and we the HRNS are truly profound and great”

There is more to say on Ray Evans’ submission. He delivered a venomous attack against two gentlemen in his submission. His extraordinary, illuminating exhibition was commented upon by those who attended the hearing, and by others. Senior Liberal figures are now commenting upon those remarks and they are disgusted by Evans’ “vicious fishwife’s” attack. It is time to share it with the public. Read about it in:

Evans loosed two arrows and, shot himself. Brains Trust No5.

1.Des Moore, Submission to the Fair Pay Commission on the Minimum Wage, 18th, July, 20062.2.Ray Evans, Submission to the Fair Pay Commission, 28th, July, 2006.

Des Moore set out HRNS’s entire ‘econ. case’ for free labour markets; Why the ACTU is pleased with their good work. Michael Kroger’s “Brains Trust “(3)

The HRNS’ failure in labour market reform is not simply the errors already summarised (1). It has only conceded the entire ACTU case against labour market reforms, and damaged much else besides. No wonder the ACTU is having a jolly time of it attacking the Cabinet. An electrifying paper by Des Moore to the HRNS’ 23rd annual extravaganza conference, sums up what the HRNS have done (2).

The paper’s doubled subject is ‘welfare effects’ of ‘minimum wages’ (not effective minimum wages), and “why Card and Krueger are wrong”. He should have left both well alone. Moore declares, “minimum rates’’ might be inadequate to maintain living standards. Governments, he continues, should maintain them by transfers. For, minimum rates delivers unemployment, and not having a job is worse than lower consumption.

Moore seems to reduce welfare to merely having a job. If an employer were to offer, say, $1 an hour, a job seeker should be grateful for it? Never mind, says Moore, the Govt.(!) can pick up the tab for the difference between a pittance and the market rate (though Moore, doesn’t have a clue about market rates).

So, Moore pronounces, a minimum wage rate yields unemployment, and it is having a job that counts. Never mind about the reason why so many get up every day and work in enterprise, government will take care of that. (The ACTU must have really enjoyed reading this.)

Moore’s mutterings on transfers, amounts to another moralising demand for redistribution (income transfers), which may delight the left but few others. Yet, there is a troubling exception:

Unemployment ‘benefits’ are compensation to all those made unemployed due to the imposition of effective minimum rates. Moore has nothing to say on this, nor against those responsible for 100% cuts and the need to compensate the victims, the ACTU, and compliant politicians and bureaucrats. (Economists, frustrated at the HRNS wrecking the free labour market case, are equally disgusted with Federal Cabinet Minister Joe Hockey calling the victims of the Unions ‘dole-bludgers’ and telling them to tramp all around Australia, as so many vagabonds, in search of a job. (3) )

Moore is oblivious to: Capital delivers ‘living standards’ (’welfare’, ie. consumption), and capital accumulation raises them. Moore doesn’t see Govt. transfers don’t do the work of capital accumulation.

Moore also conceded another false claim employers have a balance of power over employees. Is this why Moore decided to show “why Card and Krueger are wrong,” in a trivial, inchoate, lengthy ramble on monopsony. Well, Moore did manage to copy down the standard textbook definition of monopsony.

Apart from other troubles, Moore didn’t spot a crucial qualification that Bellchamber and Gregory attempted to obscure. Jackson lifts it out in a swift stroke:

“…Card (et al)…only suggest … when the minimum wage is ‘low’… rises will have little effect on employment. Nowhere did Card actually say that raising wages above the market level will not cause unemployment.” (4)

A rise in the minimum (not the effective minimum rate) that leaves it an ineffective rate is not destructive. Jackson has written further devastating assessments of Bellchamber, Harcourt, and Card and Krueger.

Another problem is the notion of monopsony rests on the fallacy of perfect competition, against which Jackson has also written (5). Another excellent paper is by Block and Barnett II (6).

Moore concedes the ACTU false claim of “balance of power”, which is pinned to the error of indeterminacy of rates. The ACTU latched onto Card and Krueger in an attempt to lend credence to it.

Moore, in ceding indeterminacy, and asserting that ineffective minimum rates are destructive and should be eliminated, ceded the ‘power’ claim. That is what t.v. viewers saw, when Hugh Morgan, told Australians, ‘you are being paid to much’ (because the “ratio” is too high (7)).What has he said but this:

Employers should be free to drive down rates, and deny employees ‘just’ wages’.

He has only managed to give every ACTU ‘reason’ for:

        1. Effective minimum wages.
        2. Unionised closed shops.
        3. Institutional regulation of markets.
        4. Union ‘protection’ of employees from ‘exploitation’ by unscrupulous thugs – employers.

It hasn’t gelled with Des Moore that in free markets there is neither monopsony, nor oligopsony. That, neither employer nor employee has power, there is no power to be balanced – competitive markets and the marginal productivity of labour explains why, and why labour is justly paid.

Moore’s paper shows laziness. Compare the extensive references Jackson has supplied in Labour Wars, and the bibliography in the Block and Barnett paper. Those gentlemen are abreast of the literature, and case studies; Moore is not. Yet, this only a part of Moore’s, and the HRNS’ overall incompetence.

Moore has felt important waxing long on grave matters others have merely treated soundly and with precision. Moore has set out what the HRNS has been saying for some 20 years now. No wonder the ACTU likes the HRNS - they are advocates of the ACTU’s entire anti -free labour market case. Brilliant!

      3. Joe Hockey, Federal Cabinet Minister for the Department of ‘Human Services’. Besides other schemes, Hockey and the Dept. are responsible for administering unemployment benefits.
      4. G. Jackson, Labour Wars, p.17.
      5. G. Jackson (eg.) Monopsony versus labour: our right wing lets us down again. Brookesnews. Also in Labour Wars.
      6. Walter Block and William Barnett II, An Austrian Critique of Neo – Classical Monopsony Theory. Block and Barnett II draw the same conclusions as Jackson. They also engage in a thorough examination of the false assumption on which monopsony, and oligopsony rests, ‘perfect competition’, to show monopsony is pseudo economic theory.
      7. ‘Ratio of the minimum wage to the median wage’: when it is too high, unemployment ensues (positive correlation). The ‘ratio’ is the HRNS’ ‘solution’ to the (false) dilemma of indeterminacy, and why unemployment.
