For those that haven’t been to the Top End of Australia, the Northern Territory is an odd place. Kind of like Wild West USA, but more drinking. Not for nothing do Territorians hold the world record for Alcohol consumption per person. But despite this, they do tend to be the kind of rough down to earth people that Clint or the Duke may have aspired to be like.

So how to explain the inexplicable number of UFO sightings of late up in the Top End? Well its inexplicable, you goose, so you you can’t explain it.

A far more important question is how you factor in the carbon output of ET and his mates? That is what I really want to know. What is their carbon footprint and what are THEY doing to reduce their impact on the environment. It just makes you sick, I mean they may as well be denialists.

Could one of my favorite Mitchie-villians please explain to me what the hell is going on with this story?

OTTAWA (AFP) — A Canadian court has lifted a 12-year-old girl’s grounding, overturning her father’s punishment for disobeying his orders to stay off the Internet, his lawyer said Wednesday.

Before we have any misunderstandings in the future, I would just like to advise my own progeny that were they to consider this to be in any way a precedent, they can bloody well think again. When you turn 18, you can do what ever the hell you want (not really, just a figure of speech)

Until that time, your father and mother are lord and master and what they says goes. Get used to it. Additionally, any pseudo judge who thinks they can take away our rights to raise and discipline our kids, had best think again.

The Great Blogroll Cleanup

Having a blogroll is akin to having an old fashioned address book. Every few years you have to go through it, adding here, changing there, deleting whole entries that you wonder why the hell you bothered writing in there in the first place.

So now is the time for the great cleanup. Over the next few days I’ll be attacking it and wiping out great swathes of virgin blog roll entries. Places I haven’t visited in ages will be consigned to the great blog hall in the sky and new fresh exciting sites will be added.

So now it is over to you. If you feel that you have a site worth visiting, feel free to add it in the comments. I am happy to accept bribes for the right to appear on my blog roll. Scotch is the most common, though obviously a good single malt will take precedence.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.
The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’.’
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was. The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.’
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.
‘You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!.’

Queensland Maroons kept the series alive last night by flogging NSW by 30 points.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am the absolute first to admit that as far as Rugby League goes, I am a fairweather fan at best. In fact, were it not for State of Origin games, I doubt I would bother to watch a game at all.

But that doesn’t take away from a little parochial State pride. Well done those men.
